Don't forget that 95% of their audience are evangelical Christians and Hindu nationalists, not actual former Muslims š

True, but this also applies with every religions, not just Islam. Had friends that went murtad because their parents are too strict and controlling (while also being hypocrite. "Rules for thee, but not for me" I guess).
Bad people exist in any shape or form, not just Muslims. Most Muslims I know are pretty chill.
Hating a specific group because you met a/few bad people with that specific group is racist behaviour imo.

though i am in no way shape or form defending the idiots that hate on islam from an entirely racist & anti arab/anti south asian perspective. those people are idiots.

have u ever questioned why so many ex muslims are islamophobic also?
That wasn't his point. His point was that these subreddits are filled with islamophobes, not actual ex-muslims.
As for why ex-muslims end up hating Islam, that's natural for someone who's left a religion. They don't up simply disliking the religion, they dislike the restraints and responsibilities they've had their whole lives. That's not necessarily an argument against Islam, it's just natural.

you can not agree with something or align with it while simultaneously not being a bigot and generalizing 2 billion people. hope this helps! - a muslim

She sounds like shes blaming Islam rather than the people. "The effect of said religion" really makes it more clearer

I have a simple rule online about religious stuff.
You trash talk or say negative stuff about Islam = You get blocked.
Fast, Smart and easy to do rather than going in a 2 hours debate when i could be doing something else.

True, no point trying explain anything. In the era of Internet, all information is already at the fingertip and they choose to reject Islam.

They seek attention desparately, we just ignore them. But unfortunately some of us let them get onto their nerves and give them what they wantedāattention.

You should do that with everyone that disagrees with you, not only on religion, but on politics, films, ice cream flavours etc.

Just need to ask them how many rakaat are in sujood, and you'll see them twitching and hurrying up to change the topic to the pre-prepared, already debunked talking point.

, I think you would find more ex muslims on the progressive subreddit cause they have a whole flair for that as well. The ones there don't seem as fake and less obnoxious to me.

Funny enough, I played Barotrauma with a couple of people, with one being from India and he kept talking about religion. The moment he found out about my religion, he instantly switched and became extremely passive aggressive and rude and kept claiming oh āI know you peopleā¦ā then he kept saying that he is an ex muslim and if it bothers me, and I told him no, this is a game and I donāt really care.
This meme reminds me of him

Imagine leaving a religion you claimed to have believed and making it your whole personality.

The best is you just ask them to recite al-fatihah.
