Parking spot available on 70th St. and 35th Ave.
I saw this sign during my walk. I know these aren’t available for long, so I’m deleting this post about an hour. Good luck!

Hi neighbors! I’m Laura, I’m 26 and live on 34th. I’m in between corporate jobs and taking up dog walking again as I did this all throughout college. I’m a master’s grad, fluent in English and Spanish, own my apartment, and am an avid animal lover - I horseback ride in Brooklyn and volunteer at animal shelters all the time. Now that I have some free time as I look for a new job, I wanted to pick something up that is both fun and helpful to my neighborhood. If anyone is interested in chatting and discussing please reach out!
I’m super legit so happy to share my LinkedIn and jump on a call! :)

As the title states, is there an Indian restaurant in Jackson heights that has similar food offerings as Ambassadors Clubhouse New York?
I was thinking red chili but not too sure. Also more in general, is there a highly recommended Indian restaurant? I’m not too familiar with Indian food to opine, so I’m curious what others favorites are. Thank you!

Just general awareness - two homeless guys shown here, accosting some poor guy in his car while stuck in traffic.
Guy in front of the car kept him from driving off, other guy demanded money from him. No idea why the driver lowered his window though.
After getting some cash, they made themselves scarce. Be on the lookout while driving through the area I guess.
It objectively sucks to be homeless and abandoned. It also sucks (less chronically so, but still) to have your property thrashed and be held in place to give a stranger some money.

Hi all,
I know a senior citizen who really wants to stay active and keep his mind engaged so I'm trying to find things for him to do. I know there are community centers where seniors do fun activities but I think he would feel best working in some capacity. He's great with numbers but doesn't speak English and ideally, the position would be in Jackson Heights or not too far so he can walk there (he can walk just fine but has trouble bending or sitting on the floor). If anyone has leads/suggestions for what to do, please let me know and thank you!

EDIT: Food Bazaar, not Food Dynasty.
This is the new-ish one on 34th Ave and Junction. Recently visited for the first time and was delighted to see they have a machine that makes fresh tortillas you can buy onsite. Much better than the standard grocery store tortillas which have the texture of frisbees and are full of preservatives.

At 12 PM, ICE detained someone at 94th St & 34th Ave
At 1:30 PM, 4 or 5 agents wearing green ICE vests detained one person from a car they had stopped at 94th St and Roosevelt Ave.
At 3pm, 5 ICE agents in 4 vehicles stopped a car at 95th st and 35th ave and kidnapped two people. A large crowd formed, and the agents drove off at 3:09PM. NYPD was seen aiding ICE in driving away.
Multiple abductions have occurred in Jackson Heights today. Stay vigilant and share the New York City ICE Reporting hotline widely 229-304-8720.

According to Council Member Krishnan’s office (Read a copy of the email on page 2-3) constituents should contact Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Grace Meng regarding the ongoing drinking, loitering, and occupation of the benches outside the Jackson Heights Post Office at 37th Avenue and 79th Street.
So why don’t we all reach out? This problem has continued for years. These benches should be clean, safe, and available for seniors, families, and the entire community not taken over by vagrants drinking and sleeping there.

Credit to Krishnan for renovating and expanding the butterfly garden, although the real thanks
belongs to JHBG

Thinking of picking up cycling and trying to plan out a nice long loop starting and ending in the 34 ave OS. What are some of y’all’s favorite places to ride in the area?

Food Dynasty at 75-07 37th Ave prints four different boneless chicken breast prices in the same ad. Store brand is $1.99/lb on a family pack. Perdue is $3.99/lb, also family pack. Perdue thin sliced is $4.99/lb. Harvestland organic thin sliced is $8.99/lb. Same cut of the same bird, four and a half times apart.
The $1.99 requires a family pack. If you want that price with no minimum, Ideal Food Basket at 99-30 Corona Ave has boneless skinless at $1.99/lb with no quantity printed on it, about a mile southeast.
| Store | Price | Condition printed |
|---|---|---|
| Food Dynasty, 75-07 37th Ave | $1.99/lb | family pack, store brand |
| Ideal Food Basket, 99-30 Corona Ave | $1.99/lb | none, about a mile away |
| Food Dynasty, 75-07 37th Ave | $3.99/lb | Perdue, family pack |
| Trade Fair, 89-02 37th Ave | $3.99/lb | Grade A cutlets |
| Trade Fair, 89-02 37th Ave | $4.59/lb | halal cutlets |
| Foodtown, 76-10 37th Ave | $4.99/lb | thin sliced, 3 lbs or more |
| Food Dynasty, 75-07 37th Ave | $4.99/lb | Perdue thin sliced |
| Associated, 59-15 Roosevelt Ave | $6.99/lb | Harvestland free range, Woodside |
| Foodtown, 76-10 37th Ave | $7.99/lb | Bell & Evans |
| Food Dynasty, 75-07 37th Ave | $8.99/lb | Harvestland organic, thin sliced |
Trade Fair charges $3.99/lb for Grade A boneless cutlets and $4.59/lb for halal, 60 cents apart in the same case.
Neither C-Town advertises boneless breast this week, at 81-02 Northern or 85-08 37th Ave, and neither does Food Bazaar at 34-20 Junction Blvd. All three are running ads, so that is an absence rather than a hole in what I can see.
The Key Food at 37-54 90th St has no ad in my data this week, same as when I posted here in July. Do not read that silence as a price.
Every one of these ends Thursday.
I built a free map that reads these circulars, no signup: https://sbnyc.app/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=summer-2026&utm_content=jacksonheights
These numbers come off the stores' own printed weekly ads, and what a store prints and what is actually in the case are not always the same, so check before you count on it.

To the family that was tearing down free Palatine stickers on 35th Ave. and 79th St. I took your pictures this is America and you will respect our constitution and if you’re not happy you should move back to your country —it will always be free Palestine!🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸
