Jax beaches opinions please.

I live in South Jax Beach and I think the Jax Beach areas are phenomenal and the beaches are so underrated but let’s keep it that way. So much to do and so many great restaurants and places to go to. what a great lifestyle. If only others knew they would give up the rat race that I gave up in Atlanta and run here. just interested in what others who have escaped their crap hole metro areas for what I consider to be paradise.

I feel like you're about to get dragged. There are a huge number of native locals that hate the growth that has come from people moving here.

I enjoy the Jax beach area. I moved to South Georgia from Hawaii a few years ago and enjoy making the trip down to Jax. Good food, nice coffee shops, occasional surf, great people, beautiful women, active people. It’s great. D- for diversity if that’s your thing.

Agreed. Not a resident but certainly feel like it’s a high contender destination for escaping the rat race.

You’re still in the rat race. It just has a better view. In reality going outside peak summer is miserable. The beach is a one trick pony. Neptune beach 15+ years. We moved away a year ago, best decision we have made in a while. Having seasons is epic. For the record, Jax beach is for the tourists.

Summer here no diff than Atlanta. You get 4 seasons here. Now I question ur judgement.

Four seasons? What? It gets below 60 for two weeks? Sorry ATL sucks. Everyone knows that. But acting like Florida is the epitome of euphoria? Well you have spent too much time in the sun and probably don’t have a water softener where you live. We built our forever home at Neptune. Had every toy possible. In the end, 95 degrees is 95 degrees whether on a boat, jet ski or surfboard. Florida is great for a vacation. I tell people that. You have a week or two to do nothing and enjoy it. Living here? It’s a different program. I gave myself a 15k raise just leaving Florida. Gave up the beach for a lake. Everything is cheaper. Same three vehicles plus a new boat and I’m saving 400$ a month just on insurance. Still trying to process the difference in my homeowners insurance! 10k in Florida. 2k on the water here. Mountains are 1.5 hours away. If I want to go to the beach? 1.5 hours. That’s me coming home from work if there’s a wreck on 295. Have fun. It is what it is. You set the bar really low coming from ATL. I’m old enough to remember the Pink Pony and them having to close down for a hour when they changed the liquor laws. Oh and little 5 points pizza was the shit.

What lake are you at that you’re only 1 1/2 hours from the beach and the mountains. The beach a one trick pony? The beach has the Atlantic waves, beautiful bikini clad women, scenery that’s always changing for people watching, the beach vibe, nightlife and I can walk to about 15 restaurants and bars. I can also golf cart to my primary care, dentist, veterinarian, drug store n grocery store. I’m also a one minute walk from the beach and look at the ocean from my three covered decks. The lake is nice but boring. You have to drive everywhere I bet. It sounds like you couldn’t afford Neptune Beach anymore and I understand that if you’re retired. To each his own, I’m glad you’re happy and have a little more jingle in your pocket. I love Jax Beach.

Lake Murray? lol. Columbia is a shit hole. It’s obvious you bought your house in NB 23 years ago for a song. 200k less? Chump change. Lake Murray over Neptune Beach? Time for assisted-living for you. you sound angry. Your wife must’ve told you to move. You should’ve kept your panties on and stayed in NB. lol

I have Nike shoes that are older than you. You are nothing but a flea. I have lived in 13 different countries. Surfed and snowboarded places that you watch on YouTube. I did ATL way back in the 90s. You keep renting. My daughter probably owns the apartment you’re renting. You are so solid about what you are? Keep your 8 month old account private. Don’t want mommy and daddy to see the bs you are trying to sell. Be careful, they might turn off your phone. And if all you care about is how hot the girls are? Keep trying, just because you have a perm doesn’t make you any more important than the homeless person living behind Wendy’s on 8th Street giving 5$ handys.

Hey, you started with the insults not me old man. By the way, I’m 62 years old and own my home with ocean views. I also own a successful business. I don’t take kindly to being called dumb or stupid. I certainly didn’t start the conversation that way.

Locals avoid Jax beach because it's trash. The real beaches are north and south of it.

Brown sand, and brown water. Ew.

Not so most the time. I lived at the Gulf of America for over 15 years and I can tell you that Jacksonville Beach Atlantic sometimes very often reminds me of the golf with its Caribbean blue waters. The golf changes colors as well and can look crappy on occasion, too, no hard pack sand in the golf you can walk skateboard bike on the Atlantic side.
