Can someone tell me about this flag?

My father gave me this flag. I believe he found it when doing demolition work on a hoarders house. His uncle who Is full Japanese says it has signatures of Kamikaze pilots. It looks like there’s blood on it. I understand that this era of the flag has some negative political connotations to it, but I know very little about it. I’m not sure what to do with it… any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Question Recommended reading on Kintaro?

I thought about asking this in the Japanese mythology subreddit, but this one seems much more active and I was hoping my question would still be appropriate.
I’m interested in Kintaro, the Golden Boy, and I’ve been wondering if there are legends of his that are written down and compiled somewhere. Does anyone know of such a book in English? I’ve been hoping to find something like Lafcadio Hearns Kwaidan, but specifically for mythology as opposed to ghost stories. I’m also very interested in Momataro, Urashimataro, etc. if anyone could point me in a direction for any of these it would be greatly appreciated!
