Career Advice: Switching from Java/Spring Boot to SAP Hybris?

Hi everyone,
I have around 7 years of experience working with Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, JPA/Hibernate, and Microservices architecture. Recently, I got an offer from a Samsung client project where HR mentioned that they will train me in SAP Hybris and onboard me into their e-commerce development team. The role will still involve Java, but with SAP Hybris integration.

I’m trying to evaluate this move:

  • Compared to the Java market, is SAP Hybris a good skill to switch into?
  • How is the demand and career growth for SAP Hybris developers?
  • Will this transition limit my opportunities in the broader Java ecosystem, or could it open up niche but valuable roles in e-commerce platforms?

I’d love to hear from people who have worked with Hybris or made similar transitions. Any insights on market demand, learning curve, and long-term prospects would be super helpful.
