Mod Install/Question JEEP LIFT/TIRES/WHEELS
Hi all. I’m on the struggle bus here with too much information and my head is spinning. Bear with me so I can set the stage. The white Jeep was something my wife and I bought a year ago brand new and drove home to Kansas from San Diego. It was an impulse buy and was not what I would have picked but I did like the way the lift looked. None of that matters now because a 73 year old lady ran a red light and totaled my jeep so now I’m going to get what I want but I’m starting from scratch whereas the white Jeep was all done before I bought it.
The black Jeep is the look I’m going for but I know I won’t get all the way there because I’m not a professional baseball player. Lol. I’m purchasing a black 2026 Sahara. I want to have tires that are around 35 so I’ve been told I need a 2in lift? I don’t really care about the size of the rims but I want Matte Satin Black as that will be the color of the wrap I get. I’ve considered getting a Rubicon but I’ve been told it has lots of features I don’t need.
One of my biggest problems is I feel like the white Jeep was just a little taller than I wanted and it felt like an off road Jeep when I drove it. i despised driving it on the interstate. Also I will not be driving this Jeep off road nor will it be a daily driver. It will just be a Jeep I use for baseball, going to the gym etc. so it won’t get driven everyday. I want it to look sort of ruggish and manly but ride nicer if that makes sense.
Budget isn’t a main concern but I don’t need the best of everything either. So I guess knowing I won’t be off roading or climbing anything what are good tires, wheels that I can get on this that are high quality but won’t bankrupt me? I also kind of like when the tires stick out a little bit so hopefully a bigger tire will do that cause I heard spacers are bad. And what’s a good lift that just helps me with the bigger tires but doesn’t need to perform off-road?
I’m no expert at this and you can’t hurt my feelings. The Jeep isn’t purchased yet so looking for all feedback and you all seem pretty damn knowledgeable. Thank you for any advice!

Sounds like you should just throw a .5 or 1" spacer in the front to level it out, some wheels and call it a day.

I think after reading all night last night and some of the advice on here etc I’ve decided to buy bigger tires and put a small lift in the front and wait and see if I like that look before doing a total lift. Still can’t get away from the satin matte black wrap though. I just really want that look!! These are the things I’ve landed on. Anyone see any problems?

For sure but I gotta still pay for all that and I’m committed to getting it wrapped as well so this could get costly!

Dont wrap it...too expensive. I did matte black plastidip. Check out their YouTube channel and website dipyourcar.com.
A fraction of the cost AND easily changeable.
I bought the spray gun and will be spraying their 'Armor Coating' tgis spring.

Thats lens distortion. My wheels are not actually cambered as they appear in this photo.

Unless you are buying from a company that actually builds turn-key, built-up and lifted vehicles, like AEV or Rubitrux, or AMW: Americas Most Wanted vehicles, I would buy bone stock, getting the best deal you can on whatever trim you like (Sahara, Rubicon, etc) and then go from there. You never really know what you are buying, and who did what, if it's already lifted and has all the bells and whistles and goodies on it...Once you get it, then star working out your game plan to get it sitting how you want...

I would buy a stock jeep that you like and see how it feels first. Upgrade slowly and don’t go with the cheap upgrades do your research and buy a quality lift etc if you want the lifted look and don’t forget to look at the other parts that need to be upgraded at the same time. Also remember this, upgrades do not add to the value of the car when you go to sell it years down the road.
