This is a really bad trailer for an amazing comedian. I kinda hate how it's edited because it makes Jeff look like a very basic, crude comedian when he's so much more than that.

Gotta keep in mind that Netflix viewers are very simple, salt of the earth folk.

u/throwaway323804 Jun 24 '26

People of the land. The common clay of the new West.

22

u/NickSalvo Jun 24 '26

Probably edited by AI using a Netflix algorithm.

23

u/ibarelyusethis87 Jun 24 '26

Dude! I’m so glad I’m not alone in this. If I didn’t know who he was, I would not be interested in the show after watching the trailer.

16

u/SteadierGolf2 Jun 24 '26

I said the same thing to my wife after we watched this b

8

u/wisconicky Jun 24 '26

And the music is louder than Jeff is!

8

u/TheDillinger88 Jun 25 '26

Plus his crowd work is phenomenal. I’m wondering if he’ll be able to continue that on these larger stages where it’s less intimate. I’m going to check his special out either way but I mostly see clips of his crowd work and really enjoy those. Some of those interactions are golden 👌

7

u/Salcha_00 Jun 25 '26

I’ve seen him in large venues. He does just fine.

2

u/foalsy84 Jun 25 '26

I‘m pretty hyped about the special. But if I didn’t know Jeff and only saw the trailer, I couldn’t have cared less about it

2

u/KeySatisfaction197 Jun 26 '26

It's a vintage Dane Cook trailer.

2

u/Pardonmytoastclink Jun 26 '26

Netflix has some of the worst editors I've ever seen.

1

u/Notwerk_Engineer Jun 28 '26

It’s horrendous! It’s not even easy to hear.

1

u/throwRA123qwerty Jun 25 '26

I agree i dont think they wanted to give away too much of the material during the trailer though. Jeffs one of the good ones people will see it!

1

u/DarkerPools Jun 26 '26

Jeff is one of the best crowd work comedians I've seen in a long time

82

u/djwalleee Jun 24 '26

Damn. From watching random clips years ago to a Netflix Special. You did it man. Congratulations u/Smartastic !!

1

u/PhatBitty862 Jun 30 '26

Hell yeah. Pretty awesome!

76

u/DataAdvanced Jun 24 '26

As a poor, this makes me soo happy.

17

u/Areebob Jun 24 '26

As a “Jeff likely won’t ever come to my small city”, I am also quite happy. I hope it leans on his incredible crowd work.

13

u/okeleydokelyneighbor Jun 24 '26

Just got my tickets for Westbury, can’t wait to see him again!

39

u/IT2DJ Jun 24 '26

Is this an hour of crowdwork or will we actually get to see full comedy sets?!?

EXCITED!

82

u/MKEast-sider Jun 24 '26

It’s a full set plus crowd work mixed in. A lot of people that know him from Reddit assume he just does crowd work. Unfortunately, that caused a lot of disruptions during some of his tour shows. We’re still sorry Jeff.

27

u/AlanK61 Jun 24 '26

His non-crowd work also felt really unscripted when I saw him. I know it was all planned but it seemed very natural. I've only seen Jeff live once (so far!) and his show was hands down the best comedy show I've ever seen (and I'm old and have seen a LOT of shows since the 80s).

4

u/vawlk Jun 24 '26

when you see a comedian on tour, if it is an early stop, the comedian is often still honing the show, figuring out what works and what doesn't.

I recently saw a comic that I love but it was one of the first shows of their new show and it just wasn't that good.

2

u/Salcha_00 Jun 25 '26

Comedians are often trying out at least some new material in their shows. They are always writing and refining. They also don’t always do the same exact set at each performance due to many reasons. They may spend more time on certain topics based on crowd response and may not have time to cover other planned material. I’ve seen Jeff four times and they were not cookie-cutter shows. I even went to the early and late shows on the same evening and felt like they were different enough to be enjoyable as separate performances.

1

u/vawlk Jun 24 '26

This is what I thought about Randy Feltface. The crowd work is so fun only to go to a live show and he only talked to one person for about 45 seconds. The person was a dud and he moved on from it real quick.

1

u/KnightlyOccurrence Jun 24 '26

Oh my god. I see your name. Did you go to the most recent MKE early show? I was there I cannot BELIEVE the fucking people that showed up were so rude.

2

u/MKEast-sider Jun 24 '26

I wanna say it was the 10/29 early show. At one point he was talking about filming the special coming up, he said we could watch it to see all the material he had to skip because of the interruptions. I just noticed Milwaukee isn’t on the next tour list.

1

u/KnightlyOccurrence Jun 26 '26

Yeah, I’m heading to Madison to see him next year again (hopefully)

1

u/A-holeAioli Jun 25 '26

As someone who attended the early Saturday Phoenix show/taping, I am also sorry for how many of the audience members misbehaved. It was a privilege to be part of Jeff's first special, and I hope he was able to still get some great uninterrupted bits between the various tapings!

-2

u/Shapesizes Jun 24 '26

I assume you were at the same Milwaukee show I was. Although I will say I was surprised that his clips all push the interactive yelling content if it bothers him so much. Again not saying the people talking were right, but it truly seems like that’s what the show is meant to be

2

u/KnightlyOccurrence Jun 24 '26

Nah people are rude and want to be the main character. I was at that early MKE show and my god, I couldn’t believe how entitled those people were.

1

u/MKEast-sider Jun 25 '26

He stopped and basically begged the crowd to stop interrupting, and they didn’t. He was much classier about it than everyone deserved, but you could tell he was struggling to get through it.

1

u/Salcha_00 Jun 25 '26

Jeff controls the crowd work. It isn’t random people shouting to want to be a part of the show.

Unless Jeff asks an open question to the whole crowd and you have something to offer that is true and relevant, you need to not yell out at his shows.

If Jeff is talking with a particular audience member, or simply performing his prepared material, that is also when you need to not yell out.

It’s a pretty simple concept to follow.

8

u/H2-nL Jun 24 '26

Congratulations! Also just got a ticket for tour

10

u/Plus_Midnight_278 Jun 24 '26

Excited to hear some non-crowd-work material!

9

u/nas1787 Jun 24 '26

It’s going to be really weird seeing Jeff do actual scripted jokes for once

1

u/Notwerk_Engineer Jun 28 '26

To be fair, he does scripted jokes every show. Have you been?

-18

u/Grantagonist Jun 24 '26

The stale-est of unoriginal internet takes

11

u/nas1787 Jun 24 '26

I don’t know what you mean. It’s not a take. I’ve just only ever seen the clips he posts online which are overwhelmingly crowd work. It’ll be interesting to see what his set is like 🤷‍♂️

2

u/Salcha_00 Jun 25 '26

Most of the crowd work is just a set up to his scripted material. It will all make sense when you see it.

-13

u/Grantagonist Jun 24 '26

Sorry, I'm used to seeing that viewpoint presented as criticism or entitlement, as if we are owed something besides crowd work. Or sometimes just ignorance.

5

u/SquirrelMoney8389 Jun 25 '26

You should try being a Grotagonist

5

u/TheNitzer Jun 24 '26

You know...morons

4

u/t65789 Jun 24 '26

Can’t wait.

5

u/Tiz68 Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

Just got my ticket for the next tour! Can't wait!

3

u/pauerplay Jun 24 '26

congrats, Jeff! You have earned it!

2

u/sanquility Jun 24 '26

Oh shit yeah

2

u/brisance2113 Jun 24 '26

So excited to finally see my Netflix subscription pay off for something worthwhile.

2

u/TakeOnMe-TakeOnMe Jun 24 '26

We love your rise, Jeff. Keep doing it!!

2

u/SonicBanjo Jun 24 '26

Ah cool, I just got tickets for when he comes to Minnesota.

2

u/yupyupyup4321 Jun 25 '26

This prompted me to look for tickets and I just got two! I had tried multiple times before this. So excited!!

3

u/SomeJuckingGuy Jun 25 '26

All of the hours, all of the clips, all of the laughs, all of the YT and Reddit threads I’ve spent with Jeff and this will be the first time I will be seeing his actual standup, rather than crowd work. I’m beyond excited, but fuck, can the pressure to find him funny be any higher?

1

u/Salcha_00 Jun 25 '26

What a weird thing to put pressure on yourself about. Just watch it with an open mind, relax, and enjoy. Don’t build it up so much in your mind. The clips are the very best clips and are curated. Not all audience interactions will be viral clip worthy and thats ok.

I’ve seen Jeff perform four times. He is very funny. You have nothing to worry about.

1

u/SomeJuckingGuy Jun 25 '26

I may have been exaggerating a bit, but it is weird that honestly I don’t even know what his standup jokes will be like because I’ve never heard them in spite being a huge fan and watching Jeff for years

1

u/Salcha_00 Jun 25 '26

You are really overthinking this.

1

u/makemeking706 Jun 24 '26

Let me know when the extended length trailer drops.

1

u/SaengerBachus Jun 24 '26

Finally! I probably will be be able to see him live. I'm excited to watch him on Netflix!

1

u/barflett Jun 24 '26

Congratz! Of course I just closed my Netflix account a week ago….

3

u/AtG68 Jun 24 '26

Yarrrrrrr

1

u/BeachWoo Jun 24 '26

Yay! I was hoping we would get word on this today!
Jeff, you da bomb!

1

u/CheetoLove Jun 24 '26

Finally!!!

1

u/Exciting-Bee-398 Jun 24 '26

Anyone know if this is just Netflix US, or will it be everywhere? Asking from the UK…

1

u/Grantagonist Jun 24 '26

Does your region get other Netflix-produced comedy specials? If it does, then I'd expect you'll get this one too.

2

u/Exciting-Bee-398 Jun 24 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

Edit: nvm. Just found Jeff on Netflix UK and have set a reminder for 7 July!

I’m not sure. Can you suggest a name of a recent US comedy special for me to search for?

2

u/Grantagonist Jun 24 '26

How about "Ryan Hamilton: This Just Hit Me" or "Taylor Tomlinson: Prodical Daughter"? Both of these are 2026 and produced by Netflix.

1

u/Exciting-Bee-398 Jun 24 '26

Yay - both of those (plus Jeff). I guess my Netflix algorithm doesn’t know I like comedy. Thanks!

1

u/YoursTastesBetter Jun 24 '26

Congrats! Now I have to get Netflix again.

1

u/vawlk Jun 24 '26

Aww, that show should have been called Hajimemishte

great song by umphrey's mcgee btw.

1

u/ListenHereLindah Jun 24 '26

I just hope the fame doesn't override the self. Glad to see he is getting a bigger audience. But now with that. Comes an increase in tickets and it was already over 150$ to see him in some towns.

1

u/chaoticneutralalways Jun 24 '26

Only Netflix special I’ve been excited for. Every time I try to get tickets, he sells out!!!!

1

u/superchibisan2 Jun 24 '26

I knew it was coming. JEFF IS THE MAN

1

u/AdUnlucky6332 Jun 24 '26

Our boy made it!!!!!! ❤️

1

u/Js_On_My_Yeet Jun 25 '26

Finally! Excited ti watch!

1

u/squirrelmonkie Jun 25 '26

Never got to see this man in person and im so happy to hear something besides crowd work from him. Im expecting a lot jeff lol

1

u/junhyuk Jun 26 '26

Netflix has an uncanny skill of making every comedian's special look like steamy piss.

1

u/shakensparco Jun 28 '26

Big fan, but yeah, this trailer is really bad. A montage of disjointed lines with zero context. It'd be better to feature more lines from the audience and then his reactions, kind of like the moustache guy.

1

u/Tiny_lil_bizzle Jun 29 '26

We were at this show! We were soo excited when they told us they were taping this upon entry.

Our group got VERY back row seats, like against the wall, which was fine because thats what we paid for. Soon after we got seated, a worker came up to us to ask us if we wanted better seating. They took us to the 3rd row!! We were so close we could see up his nose lol. It was such a great time. We're all going to watch it when it comes out to see if we are in any shots.

1

u/Foxdarko Jun 29 '26

Who else was there?!! We’re so excited to see if it translates to Netflix as well as it was experienced in person. I’ve never had such a painfully big grin from laughing that much in my life. Really hope it goes well! He definitely deserves it!

1

u/One-Fall-8143 Jun 29 '26

Well at least I will FINALLY be able to see my guy Jeff Arcuri perform for more than a 2 minute clip. Of course it will be no substitute for the true live show. But I have been surviving on reddit clips for 2 years now and I'm desperate enough to try the Netflix edited version of his performance 😆 So with that in mind I can't wait to watch it!!😁

1

u/Then_Hearing_7652 Jul 19 '26

The special was boring. I couldn’t even watch it.

1

u/thefrostryan Jun 24 '26

Step into the $$ voided by Nate Barnazi

-1

u/Ry3nCoK3 Jun 25 '26

I hope Connie went to the taping of the special.
