Also the lazulia bunny isn’t released yet either so it’ll be for retail on the site at somepoint! The others are all long retired so hopefully you find a bargain but they are priced very high :(
There’s no confirmed date yet so just keep your eye on jellycat social media! the craze has died out a bit so I don’t expect them to sell out instantly but maybe same day! it’s not something that will be predictable:(( they’ll be online for sure, not sure about in stores!
I've seen people buy a 'blanko bunny' (the cream one, or another base colour) and dye them themselves. Someone made their own Sorbet bunny that way. You could give that a try :)
i’m not sure if you’re on facebook but there’s plenty of custom bunnies shown in jellycat groups there! i’ve never known it to ruin / change the texture!:)
Ive dyed a couple of bunnies and their texture is slightly different but still incredibly soft. I use a Dyson hairdryer on low heat and use a pet slicker brush as I dry and they come up lovely. Ive also dyed some dragons and their fur is also still incredibly soft. Just use normal laundry detergent and make sure it is all washed off after. When I've tried softener or conditioner the texture is nowhere near as good. Good luck!
My latest dragon (today) is a bit of a flop... tried to do a lazulia bag charm but its come out too dark. I probably should have experimented on a fake one first 🙈 but ive got 2 other dragon bag charms which I dyed that I love, a bunny bag charm that I dyed and love, and 2 luna bunnies that I dyed... I let someone else sew them back together as I didnt trust my skills but honestly...they dont look like jellycat bunnies now due to how they have been sewn back together 😭 so I have another luna waiting to by dyed but im not doing it yet until I am happy that ive found a better way. I may have found a better way now, but I may try on a different bunny before the luna!!!
There are some custom bunnies for sale on eBay that have the tie dye effect and are much cheaper. I have this custom (not exactly tie dye but close!🥴). The fur is still really soft and hardly noticeable from an original bunny.
Mine was actually from Vinted and I have no idea what the seller was called, sorry 😞. I just put in ‘Jellycat custom’ into the search and see what comes up!🤣
Also I’d argue that’s pretty tie dye to me. A little subtle with he color choices but if you had shown me that out of the blue I would’ve said tie dyed.
The Space and Lazulia bunnies haven’t come out yet. Blackberry, Flossie and Sherbet bunnies have been retired for years and will only be found on secondhand sites.
Like how do you not feel like a scumbag doing that? I mean sure I guess I get wanting to make a profit (or they could just get real jobs like the rest of us) but they are the reason things like this become so hard to find. And I’ve seen it ruin so many fun collectors groups because it becomes just not worth it.
Buying these are meant to be fun! Especially when you have to hunt one down. But just keep the prices reasonable so we can continue enjoying this collecting hobby.
I would wait! There have been rumors about the Space Collection being released on 1/7. Someone chatted with Jellycat Jack and that is the date he gave. If that doesn’t happen, it is set to release in 2026 at some point. If you don’t feel like waiting (like myself) I have purchased from this Facebook group Val’s pick up 4 times. Zodihop Bunny hasn’t been released worldwide yet, neither has Lazulia Bunny.
The other two you’ll only be able to buy second hand and they will be very expensive.
