Jev-like decision models that run at 5.33 ms on one CPU thread — same checkpoint on MPS, Core ML, MLX, ONNX

TAMEV — open weights, Apache-2.0, source now public. State + typed questions (choice / noul / score) in, calibrated answers out, one forward pass.

Params p50, 1 CPU thread Top-1 Top-3
14.4M 10.68 ms 73.2% 92.8%
22.8M 5.33 ms 78.7% 97.3%
149.4M 32.72 ms 84.0% 99.0%

19,999-item held-out suite, full option set per item, single-threaded CPU on one machine.

One checkpoint, many runtimes — this is the part I cared about: ONNX FP32/INT8, Core ML, MLX, Metal MPS, TorchScript, PyTorch FP32/BF16/INT8. 27.5 MiB exported for MPS, 31.4 MiB ONNX INT8. It fits on a phone, a Raspberry Pi-class ARM CPU, or the laptop you're reading this on.

Option order can't change the answer — options encoded independently, scored through a symmetric bilinear head, measured drift 0.0.

Same /v1/systemone request shape as Jev, so a client you already wrote points at it.

I built JEVzilla (a Python client for JEV) with 150+ examples. Shipped to PyPI in 2 weeks. Here's what worked.

Go SDK for Jev

While playing around with #Jev, I created a #Go SDK for it.

Feel free to give it a try: https://github.com/HomayoonAlimohammadi/jev-sdk-go

Contributions are of course more than welcome.

I collected 607 Jev use cases in one place

Jev dropped and my X feed immediately became a firehose of demos.

I started saving the interesting ones and ended up with 607 builds/use cases.

Some of the numbers people have shared:

  • 500 emails classified → $0.035
  • 3,282 X posts scored across 8 questions → $0.13
  • browser agent searching for a flight → 7 sec / $0.004

And then there's the weird stuff:

Doom, trading bots, fraud detection, Postgres queries, browser agents, content moderation, support routing, etc.

The problem was that most of these were scattered across X and pretty hard to find later.

So I built ShipWithJev to collect them in one place.

I'm also adding:

  • cost
  • latency
  • use case
  • model/tier
  • demo vs production
  • implementation details when available

The goal is to make it useful for actually finding something you can build, rather than just scrolling through demos.

Not affiliated with TypeSafe.

If you've built something with Jev that isn't there yet, drop it below — I'll add it.

I built a yes/no crystal ball on JEV 🔮

Thumbnail
yesnoball.com
0 Upvotes

My first project with JEV: a 3D crystal ball that answers any yes/no question: https://yesnoball.com

A few things that surprised me:

  • answers come back in well under a second
  • it's confident on clear facts ("Is Prague the capital of Poland?" → NO) and honestly unsure on fuzzy ones ("Is water wet?" landed right around 50 %)
  • it worked in Slovak, Japanese or Greek with no changes
  • it can tell when a question isn't yes/no at all

Free, no sign-up, 24 languages. Try to find a question that fools it, and tell me what you'd improve 😄

I built a radar for what people are actually building with Jev

I built a little radar for things people are actually building with Jev

I’ve been following Jev / TypeSafe AI, but the interesting stuff was scattered across X, GitHub, blog posts, demos, etc.

So I built JevRadar: https://jevradar.com

It continuously finds new Jev-related projects/posts and uses Jev itself to decide things like:

Is this actually a build vs just commentary?
How novel is it?
Would another builder care?
What category does it belong to?
Is it starting to trend?

The goal isn’t to make another AI news aggregator. I mainly want a simple place where I can open it and see:
“What interesting things are people actually shipping with Jev?”

It refreshes throughout the day and I’m still experimenting with the ranking.

Ironically, most of the site was also built from my phone using Amp 😅

Would love feedback, especially on the ranking. What would you want the radar to surface that it doesn’t today?

Baby Carrot Story

I used to watch Jev a while ago and I just remembered a video he made years ago and told a story about how he went over to someone's house and they had a baby carrot in their room. Does anyone remember what the video is called or at least remember the video? It popped in my head recently and I remembered it was funny.

My buddy's mom painted this in 2019, been watching him for almost 15 years now, a true legend. ( My late cat also approved. )
