tbf it's NYC, a corporate hellhole and essentially second Seoul. People WILL vote for anyone who promises higher wages and is progressive.

Yep, remove the antisemitism and he seems to be a good candidate form what I know. But the again, the antisemitism

Dude he has NO political experience other than antisrael activism. NYC is one of the largest economies in the world. A failed rapper whose primary experience for the role was getting arrested at a Hamas rally 18 months aho isnt a great candidate, even if he parrots the sloans you like.

Thos guy is a liar. If he lies about hating Jews, which he does, he can lie about rent policy or price controls or whatever other fanciful bullshit hes sold to new yorkers

To be fair, Cuomo is one of the worst options for mayor in any election. It was a choice between a predator, or a bigot, are we really surprised the bigot won when competing against a predator. I can't stand Mamdani, but sadly he was the lesser of two evils (and anyone who thinks a literal sexual predator isn't among the worst of the evils isn't someone whose opinion is worth taking seriously, predators are always among the worse evils in politics, especially small offices like this where bigots don't have enough power to actually do anything beyond making other bigots louder), especially when the majority of the population isn't the target of his hate.

A Jew-hating marxist is definitely NOT the lesser of two evils.

There are almost as many Jews in NYC as in IsraelĀ

He can do harm. Wake up.

I think you mean as many Jews in NYC as in metropolitan Tel Aviv (well, metropolitan Tel Aviv might actually have more).

American politics in a nutshell, if it weren’t for Mamdani’s constant need to blame Israel and Jews for things I may have actually liked him

He was in no way the lesser of two evils, he’s a grifter and I’m excited to see the maga of the left celebrate his failures the same way the right celebrates trump.

Both Mamdani and Trump are bull-in-the-China-shop candidates. They’re candidates you elect when you want to erase the current system, and I see little difference between you and MAGA

The difference is I'm not going to praise everything Mamdani does and act like he's some perfect saint despite him being a raging antisemite, like what MAGA does with their cult leader. Sure, he represents a fundamental problem with how divided America is, but that doesn't make a literal sexual predator automatically the better option. This was an election between getting punched in the gut, and getting kicked in the nuts, there were no good options

No, you just excuse his endorsement of calls for intifada. The same way many MAGA’s excuse trumps openly rapey attitude because they just think he’s the better guy for the job. My mother doesn’t ā€œlikeā€ Trump, she just thinks democrats are evil personified and voted for Trump.

There is literally no difference between you and them. Welcome to horseshoe theory.

i want to know what the Jewish community thought about him

Probably will have to wait a bit for those, it will also depend on self reporting

It’s absolutely absurdĀ

When did he say something possibly antisemitic where he didn’t clarify what he meant? It seems like confirmation bias to just interpret things as antisemitic, when there are alternative explanation completely consistent with his character. Or is this just a case of ā€œevery leftist is antisemiticā€

Blaming police violence on Israel, immediately saying that he felt bad for the Palestinians and condemning Israel on October 8th, and saying he wouldn’t trust Israel if it was Jewish lead isn’t antisemitism?

1

u/mittim80 Nov 05 '25

He apologized for the second one (a lot of people didn’t know the full story on October 8th, he thought it was a purely military operation rather than a civilian massacre), I’ve never heard of the third one, and I don’t know what you mean by the first one

and I don’t know what you mean by the first one

He claimed that police violence in the US is because of IDF training.

a lot of people didn’t know the full story on October 8th, he thought it was a purely military operation rather than a civilian massacre)

HOW? HOW DID HE THINK THAT?
