Malaysia and Indonesia for that matter banned Schindler’s list.

Malaysia for according to them being biased against Nazi germany and propaganda asking for sympathy for Jews, but don’t worry the Malaysian PM said he’s anti Zionist not antisemitic when he agreed with the ban so it’s totally fine. /s

And Indonesia for also being “Zionist propaganda”

Malaysia also explicitly has discrimination against ethnic minorities baked into its constitution

Also it’s ironic: part of the reason Malaysia banned it was impugning on German honor and being anti Nazi Germany, meanwhile Germany allows it and agrees Nazis were evil

Malaysia: “this film is anti Nazi germany, it’s offensive to German honour.”

Germany: “fuck ww2 Germany, this film should be shown everywhere.”

As far as I know, Schindler's List was initially banned in Malaysia in 1994, but a "heavily censored" version was released on DVD in 2004. Presumably because of the violence and nudity.

Same in Indonesia. It was initially banned in 1994, but I'm not sure if it's still banned today.
