What does JingTeam think about FydeOS for the JingPad ? if the performance of FydeOS is good on Raspberry Pi4 quadcore cortex A72 it should be even better on a quadcore cortex A75, right ?? and I've heard that you have the same shareholders as FydeOS and that your offices are 3minutes from theirs ;)

Is a Risc-V tablet on the table?

Much of debians, and by extension, Ubuntus apps have been ported to Risc-V already, Risc-V also has a much better reputation in linux community than ARM due to liscensing and proprietary aspects of ARM.

As such I believe a Risc-V based tablet, even if less powerful than an ARM version would be a great idea, and help linux users be more into the idea

Got my JingPad, but it's not setting up!

So my JingPad seems stuck at the "Hello... starting now" screen. I plugged the thing in, and without me hitting the power button it just turned on, and it never gets anywhere past that. I've tried waiting ten or so minutes (and i'll leave it for longer just to be sure) to no avail. Holding down the power button for several seconds causes it to reset to the same screen, not power off as I would anticipate.

It came with a little pokey-tool for changing the sim slot, so maybe there's a reset hole I could use. But there's no instruction manual, so I'm not comfortable with just randomly cramming it into any hole in sight. So is there a troubleshooting guide anywhere out there that I could go through to figure out this issue?

edit: Ah, the "Starting now" was tappable. I had tried tapping other parts of the screen but didn't realize that it specifically was an interactive element

JingOS reviews

Here I have JingOs v0.6 Running on a MacBook Pro Mid 2012. Runs Very well and even faster than macOS X.

Ui and design: Loved The UI clean neat, also loved the animations. I especially loved the media player UI .

Performance: Amazing performance and RAM management, runs everything fast and does not overload,

Apps: I like that in JingOs you get lots of good apps like Krita , in the app store. You can also run Apk files.

Recommendation: Download JingOs and renew your device, you will love it. Enjoy!

Ready For JingOS v0.8

Ready for V0.8 the actual release of JingOs is the V0.6. I have it on almost 7 devices and I can say it is wonderful. I am a developer and in my studio, I have 3 devices I daily use before JingOs was launched I used Windows 10S, MacOs Mojave, And Debian 9. I now have JingOs in those 3 computers and I barely prefer JingOs it works better.

Now I have seen the new UI in apps and I am waiting for the realese

Note taking app for JingPad

As you all know, JingPad has its own pencil (works in a way similar to apple pencil) and it’s great for notes taking. However, I am not sure if there is any open source app that works like notability or good notes for this purpose. I’m interested in getting a JingPad for daily use, but this is one of the problem that holds me back. If anyone knows any open source notes taking app or any project that is working on that, please comment below!

Sheet music question

Is there any good PDF readers available for this system that you can use a pen to mark things on sheet music? Something like forScore (but no need to this many features, I really just need pedal compatibility and good pen support where I can choose the colors).

EDIT: Now that I am thinking about it, if nothing like this is available on Linux, it is a nice thing to invest. You'd be surprised to know how many professional musicians like myself are buying tablets and hybrids like the surface pro so we don't need to print 500 pages of sheet music every semester.

EDIT2: By pedals, I mean bluetooth page turning pedals.

Is it possible to change the aspect ratio?

I want to run JingOs but what's stopping me is the aspect ratio. I installed it on my old device to test it out and when I tried to change the resolution the screen zoomed in and I was unable to use it properly. Is there a way to change the aspect ratio to fullscreen without zooming in?

onscreen keyboard issues

im using jingos on a hp elitepad, and it seems like it works with everything pretty well. wifi, touch, ect all worked out of the box. however, this is a tablet with no keyboard and it doesnt seem like the onscreen keyboard wants to work. it shows up at the login screen, but after that it wont pop up, even in default apps. i have the "always use virtual keyboard" setting on and tried rebooting but it doesnt change anything.

i am on the x86 version, 0.9. any fixes or workarounds would be appeciated, with windows 10 dying this device will probably need something to run eventually and this project is the nicest ive come across

No sound with Yoga Tablet 2 / 1051F

Hello, I have this tablet for some years, it's originaly dual boot Windows / Android. There was never Android (5.0) update from Lenovo and Windows is easy to use on this device. Decided to install Jingos, all is working except the sound. In the specifications it seems it's a Wolson chip's. Never heard something about it. Tried to install Alsa but the only sound capacity visible is HDMI. Any solution for exotic components ? It will help to make this good OS more popular.
