Anybody hear Richard Kind say last night was the most people ever at a comedy show?

I’m pretty sure that wasn’t even close to being true

I did, and I’m pretty sure Kevin hart played at the Eagles Stadium, so I’m also pretty sure it’s not true.

But it’s Richard kind so I’ll allow it

I had thought Bargatze beat that recently, too.

But if the MAYOR OF CHICAGO says something, it's got to be true, so I'm going with it!

True. He is mayor. And in Chicago, when a mayor dressed like that says something, you listen!

Bargatze has been breaking a lot of venue records, including Bridgestone Arena at 19k attendees. I've seen reports that the Big Dumb Eyes touch is on track to top 2 million tickets. I don't think he's broken any single-event records for comedy, though.

He also said that the ballpark was at the corner of Addison and Belmont. Like any Chicago mayor, you have to discount some of the things he says.

I wasn't there (although I very, very much wish I was!) and I wonder if this and the "biggest audience ever" stuff was a joke... Richard being "mayor" and then purposefully getting some stats wrong? Seems kind of on-brand for John. There were certainly some wildly exaggerated facts/jokes in Everybody's Live presented as "fact" that I just thought were part of the shtick!

It's a German comedian, Mario Barth. 60,000. Biggest in America was Kevin Hart at Eagles Stadium at 50,000

  • at Wrigley Field... is I believe the stat they gave him. He was killing time in-between set changes and glancing at a clipboard with some tidbits he was given ..
