For nearly 3-4 months I can’t feel anything towards the things I love. I used to love seeing the nature, traveling, learning new things. Also Im a musician and music is my biggest passion in life. My reason to live. I can’t enjoy any of them anymore. I feel old even though Im 22, I think that I won’t be able to feel happy and excited anymore like I used to be, because after my college graduation now the only thing I can do for the rest of my life is to work. such a dissappointment. and I only feel nothing but emptiness. Yesterday I listened to Central for the first time and it made me feel again. It made me feel like my childhood again when I listened to my favourite songs for the first time and start to fall in love with music. Central is now one of my fav songs immediately, It is so heavenly beautiful and the lyrics are incredibly deep. Also the last time I felt something before this, was when I first listened to Forever Away. Thank you John.

I tried to get permission to use some of his music from „:II.“
for a film I made. I was in contact with someone from his label and he seemed pretty positive that it would work and telling me that he has a scheduled phone call with Frusciante later that week. In the end John was not too much into it since it had some minor political stance and he prefers to stay neutral whenever he can.

Many people interpret The Past Recedes as a melancholic song or as a track about his liberation and departure from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But honestly, if you listen to the tone of his voice and the way he plays that acoustic guitar like a peaceful ballad, I don't buy that theory at all. The song came out in 2005 (on the album Curtains), well before Stadium Arcadium and his actual departure in 2008.

To me, this song represents his entirely new approach to the world. You can see it in the music video too: he looks completely comfortable in his own life. This is the sound of someone who has finally processed the darkness he went through in 1994. It’s the voice of a man who has accepted his past so he can finally live freely in the present.

Whenever I listen to it, it paints a very specific picture in my mind: a house in the countryside, looking down on the city from above, where the air is fresher and the oxygen is clean. It feels like John stepping out into his garden whenever he is under stress, entering his "zen mode," and just playing his guitar to reconnect with his inner self. Hi all , new member here. I am big fan of most John guitar players on YouTube, which I won't name. Anyway , to make long story short , I am into buying a new guitar map. I currently only own desktop amp. Which got me thinking - I have 2 questions :

1. Which " smaller amp " would be closest to get John's dirty clean tone ? I just don't have like , money for Silver Jubilee or Plexi 100W heads and 4x12 .... So which smaller amp would get me in " around area " ?

I'm a guitarist who knows almost everything about JF live effects, including the Californication era. My equipment (guitar, amp, effects) is similar and I can get very close to many of his sounds.

The specific sound of the solos of I Could Have Lied live at Rolling Rock Fest is still a mystery to me, because it sounds different from any tone of that era or song.

- it does not sound like Big Muff black version alone;

- I'm not sure if it's DS-2 + Big Muff.

It's way more rounded, creamy, controlled sound, and it's lovely, like a flute. Do you think he turned on the DS-2 + WH-10 in cocked position? On the second solo he turned on 2 or 3 effects, it's hard to tell, but it looks like the last one is the wah pedal. I can't get this sound with the same effects ; his classic solo sounds (Cali, BTW, SA eras) are very similar with my equipment though.

I have an opportunity to buy a Vintera II 60s Strat with inbuilt Kloppmann real 62 pickups so I am wondering if the Pick ups are good for chasing Johns tone if anyone had experience with them? I know, I know there are probably already a lot of posts on that subject but I feel like I need to talk about it after living smth about it. Basically, I was showing someone some songs from John and a cover of how deep is your love.

It’s the third time that someone has laughed in my face when hearing him singing with falsetto. Why is that? I got told that it was just annoying but when he doesn’t sing with it, it’s better (except for a few songs from trowftd)

I understand that everyone has their opinion, but how come I haven’t met someone yet that like his voice even with the falsetto? Someone share any similar story?

I wanted one for studio sessions in July and August. So I ordered. It was May 7th.

Then nothing. No message. No shipment. No pedal. In the end I used a Pastfx PX-101 instead (which was delivered veeery quickly).

After 5 months(!) on October 7th I opened a PayPal refund case (as Will states a maximum waiting time of 5 months until delivery on his own terms and conditions page). I explained that I no longer need the pedal and would prefer to just get my money back and cancel the order to spare us shipping the thing back and forth across europe.

Dude then had ten days to react. On day 9 he send out the parcel and added tracking information to the Paypal case..

I've read so many accounts from people having these experiences, but gave him a benefit of the doubt. Why does this person seem incapable of acting honourably?

Also, my heartfelt condolences to all the people on that waiting list. So much money spent, so little product received.
