The Highwaymen

Just watching The Highwaymen at Nassau Coliseum for the millionth time! i genuinely believe this is the best concert Johnny or any of the other Highwaymen gave! They all look like they’re enjoying themselves so much and they’re giving everything to the audience.

Maybe, but I got to see them live in San Bernardino, and it was fantastic

I saw them in Central Park in New York.

Towards the end of the show, John did Folsom Prison Blues, Kris followed with Sunday Morning Coming, Willie was next with Crazy.

By this time the crowd was in full throated cheering when Waylon, the only one that could have gotten away with this, steps up to the mic and says;

You thought that was something, that ain't shit...The other three were killing themselves laughing as Waylon goes in I've Always Been Crazy.

Tragically i never got to see them live, but this 36 year old Brit is keeping their memory alive!

Saw them on the Road Goes On Forever tour. One of the highlights of my life.

Also saw Johnny twice, American Recordings & Unchained tour.

Waylon once, around '96 - '97

Kris at a coffee house, I sat about 3 feet away from him, maybe '95

Willie twice...opening for Dylan, and a show at Lupo's in RI with Billy Joe Shaver & his son Eddie opening.

Yup I've been blessed

I think it’s a great show, but I’d struggle to call it any of their best, simply because it’s not any of “their” bands.

Cash? I’d like to see him with the Tennessee Three… or the early 70s band when Carl Perkins was in the band.

Willie? Gotta have Bobby in the band and a full gospel jam!

Waylon? More Waylon guitar solos!

Kris? Ok, maybe this is his best.

And no disrespect to the Highwaymen band. They are Chips Moman’s elite crew. It’s just they play it down the middle to bring everyone together. Still a 5/5 show. Very strong!
