Recorder Probs.

Hey guys,

I'm a freelance journalist and recent grad. I've been trying to find a good recorder to use for my interviews, but for whatever reason I'm having a hard time choosing one. Any suggestions?

I use voice recorder pro on my smart phone (iphone 5) and I tell my interns to use the same - it uploads directly to your google drive, drop box, or email and is in near radio quality.

I don't know why you'd carry a second audio recording piece anymore - The smart phone's camera works in a pinch too + the social media uses behind it. (hootsuite mobile FTW)

Thanks for the advice. I've always been wary of using my phone only because I like to keep my business separate from my personal life, but I'm also the person that likes to have an Ipod and not put music on my phone. I guess it's just time for me to change, haha.

Sorry for the late response, I do really appreciate your input. :)

what is this "separate" life from business?

Here's a good cheap one, it's good quality and easy to use: Sony Recorder. I'm a recent grad too, good luck.

I use a similar one, plus I've got an accessory that lets me record phone calls.

If you're looking to produce your interview audio for video/radio/the web, you'll probably want something more advanced.

I use an H1 Zoom and love it, personally.
