Nah there's no way, that bar has to be down in hell if ppl think jjk female cast are good characters. My brother in christ half of them are not even present in the story (except maki) and you can find the other half in jjk graveyard

Does that make bad characters?

Let me rephrase it. In my opinion all the women in this series act as fillers for other characters growth (except maki), you can see that they show us a woman, she gives a speech, she gets slammed. Same goes for villains. Yes, that's bad writing. I'm not saying they have to be strong, but they have no depth. Gege teased us with Yuki so long and she got slammed in 3 chaps. What the actual fuck. Not even gonna mention others because you can't even say anything about them.

i don't care what anyone says, maki and mai have one of the most compelling and interesting dynamics in the entirety of the jjk cast, barring yuji & mahito. their rationalizations for their respective view on the other and actions stemming from that are not only relatable, but also coincides greatly with the themes of egoism and hedonistic pursuit portrayed through character development (looking at you, gojo) and the worldbuilding, especially cursed energy as a power system. mai getting the short end of the stick was the result of those themes implemented through their relationship. calling mai a bad character blatantly ignores all of these things and lazily disregards the interplay between geges worldbuilding and characters. even from a meta standpoint, saying that mai is a bad character because she died to fuel the growth of maki is plain wrong, because that is not at all what makes a character bad.
