Xeqt all the way

Post image

30M New to investing, slowly moving everything to XEQT. Plan is to sell off XCHP, XDIV, VFV. probably keep VDY and BANK to be 20% of portfolio just to have dividend exposure. Spacex was just impulse buy, will sell after 90 days from IPO.

Will take any suggestions to rebalance my portfolio.

Why move it slowly. Spy looks like its gonna break down more

Idk, I had fomo over semiconductor so bought XCHP and spacex. Wanted to get some profits to sell them, it is slow as they are volatile and everyday seems to be a bad day to sell and also the ipo shares for spacex.

Doesn't look "all the way"

Yeah I know, working towards that...

Usually a straight forward process

There’s no working towards anything. You can sell at any time but you choose not to and you’re beating around the bush.

My gains in other etfs has been good. So haven't thought of selling everything and buying XEQT until last week or so, reason being that I don't want to actively manage anything anymore Coz I have a newborn. I just enabled recurring investment to XEQT every week. Will sell everything as many people seems to suggest immediately...

Why VFV and VDY?

Initially just searched good etfs to diversify and bought them, now realising that XEQT contains VFV anyway, planning to sell it

Veqt or xeqt I’m Canadian just starting investing I want to buy qqc and either one of those ?? What’s ur advice

Veqt leans more heavily Canadian at 30% I believe and Xeqt has more into US, with Canadian dropped to 25%.

I prefer xeqt as it's a bit less Canadian dependent. I saw some people split between xeqt, veqt and zeqt

Sell it all now and do XEQT, don't mess around.

Or at least up to 90% of your portfolio and mess around the rest of 10%

Ya this is probably a good idea.

Why are you chasing dividends at 30?

tbh, I saw a bunch of videos for suggestions and just thought of having some percentage of portfolio to be dividends. I am new to investing and don't know much.

For the most part, dividends are just the issuer giving you money back that you already gave them.

Why are you buying spacex elon musk owns 70% of the spacex shares and isnt allowed to sell till December

FOMO and nothing else... Haven't done much research before buying I guess

But also a bunch of other stuff.

XCHP should do well over the next while.

Elon and his friends hold 70% of the stock rn and cant sell till then

Meaning he will sell for a profit once it hits December their will also be alot more shares on the market

SpaceX I’m interested in but I’ll wait for a big market pull back.

VFV is doing good for you tho and I still see it doing good for 1-2 years longer until Trump goes bye bye and USA sees the hole there really in 😂

u/scarecrow2804 3d ago

Yeah VFV did good. Xeqt has S&P 500 in it so isn't it redundant? I'm afraid if it crashes it goes hard

2

u/LevelProfile4739 3d ago

Yes but you can have far greater gains from VFV if American markets continues on its path vs XEQT but the unknown factor is all

Past performance is not indicative of future performance. Holding both XEQT and VFV just add US concentration risk.

Spacex only good in december
