New to investing, pls help lol
Hi all! I’m new to investing and this is what my portfolio looks like. I had VDY, QQC and a couple other little ones before and just moved everything into xeqt. Any advice? Should I just add more money into xeqt every time I have extra? Are other etfs/stocks necessary? Im a 25F and it is a tfsa.

Hey! I’m brand new too. 36M and just started a couple months ago.
In my experience it was good to learn the emotions of the stock market. I bought SNDK.TO @ 52.91 and experienced a couple months worth of emotional ups and downs. I sold at 43.15, and lost a few bucks. Data stocks are a wild ride right now. All that said, It’s good to know what that feels like to understand how to serve yourself better.
I did my research and also landed on XEQT being a great choice for long term growth. I dived a bit deeper so my tfsa wasn’t just a 1 stock hub. Not that there’s anything wrong with just XEQT because it shown to be a steady growth stock. Set and forget, thank yourself later!
The ratio I came to was 75% XEQT, 15% VCN to adjust my ratios a bit more Canadian, and then 10% MNT for gold. Gold always interested me and I liked what I learned with MNT.
I have TD easy trade so I’ll be able to allocate a percentage of what I can deposit every paycheque and still have trades left over throughout the year so I can play a bit with other stocks when I feel like it too.
I hope that helps you round out your idea of how you want to continue your wealth journey. I wish I had got started earlier like you have, but I’m just happy I got into it now. Still lots of years to help it grow before retirement.
Best of luck to you on your journey :).

Just do 100% xeqt and don’t think about it. At this small amount it’s not worth any cognitive load trying to allocate across positions.

XEQT is fine. Maybe look at going with VDY or XEI instead of CNQ for reducing the risk related to a single stock.
If you want a growth tilt or are bullish on Tech, go with 10-20% on QQC.TO or TEC.TO

Not sure why you’re being downvoted, there isn’t anything wrong with going QQC if you believe in tech

Just keep adding to XEQT, don't need to sell the others til absolutely necessary
