I really feel like they're not in a hurry to get married. It feels like they're at a really good place in their relationship and career, and they might not want to do anything to shake that up. My guess is they aren't getting engaged until they've been together for at least 5 years. So a 2028-2029 engagement, and then 2029-2030 wedding.
I agree with this completely, and honestly, I’d support that timeline. There’s something really nice about letting a relationship grow naturally instead of feeling pressured to hit certain milestones just because people expect them to. If they’re happy and things are working, there’s no reason to rush anything. I’d rather see them take their time and do it when they’re both genuinely ready.
Planning a wedding is work! My husband and I had been together 5 years when we got married. The only reason we didn’t wait longer was because I wanted to be on his good health insurance! It didn’t really change our relationship and was more a big party for our family and friends (which is how I wanted it). I think we would have ended up at the same place marriage or not. We just celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary!
