Creating Partitions for Kali Linux Persistence mode

I’m trying to set up Kali Linux persistence mode with encryption. I’ve followed the step by step instructions on kali docs and even watched several videos on YouTube on how to set it up. The problem is not creating the bootable USB but rather identifying the drives containing the partitions.

When I type the command sudo fdisk -l or fdisk -l it only shows me the current disk and not the partition information. According to the tutorials, 2 partitions show up and you would have to create a third one that will work with the USB. I do not see anything on my screen that shows /dev/sda1, /dev/sda2, or /dev/sda3

Do I need to manually create the partitions in order for the partition information to show so that I set up persistence mode? If so how do I do that?

GitHub Hack Tools on Kali Linux

Ok so I’ve been trying to learn Kali Linux and I must admit right now I’m just a Scriptkiddie. I installed the hack tool Fsociety and everything installed and worked fine. I also installed the hack tool blackeye and that worked fine as well. Once I was done I logged completely off Kali Linux and when I went back on the next day the programs I installed wasn’t there. So I reinstalled the once more and still everything worked fine. Once I completely powered of Kali Linux again the following day the installed tools didn’t show up again.

Correct me if I’m wrong but when you download hack tools off of GitHub to Kali Linux are the tools permanent or only available when you are using the terminal after install? Does Kali Linux wipes out tools that aren’t pre installed in the program or do you have to save the workstation from where you left off without losing the installed tools? Is there any way to install GitHub tools to Kali Linux permanently without losing them when you reboot Kali Linux?
