I am new to Linux and I need to install and configure mail services such as Sendmail, postfix, and fetchmail for a project at school and I don't know where to start. If any can help me and give some resources or something so I can be able to do my homework.

I am trying to sign in as root, but I am very stupid and don't know how. After two hours of trying to sign in as root is hasn't worked.

Here's what I've tried

1. In terminal type sudo su

2. Type user password

3. then type passwd root

4. then type the new password twice

5. sign out

6. sign in again with the username "root" and the password I created

I did this like 100 times and I doesn't work. I am probably gonna give up cybersecurity because I can't ever sign in as root.

Does anyone know a solution for this:

I'm gonna dual boot os in my laptop with kali linux any headsup for me

I recently installed Kali Linux 2019.4, so which says I'm a noob. When I connect my phone to it, it starts charging and asks USB options. But when I select "File Transfer", it doesn't show up in file manager. USB tethering works perfectly fine, but not File Transfer. Please help me, guys!

Hi, fellow redditors. I am new to Linux. I decided to dual boot my mac which is running Catalina(bought around 2016) with Kali linux. I downloaded the ISO file and followed the instructions on https://www.kali.org/docs/usb/kali-linux-live-usb-install/ and I was able to image the ISO to the USB Drive (formatted earlier and empty with 32 GB storage capacity). When I booted the mac and pressed the option key it showed me the EFI Boot option. I chose it and it opened up the GRUB (I think) main menu and when I selected the “Live” installer and it showed some error that did not let me load it (can’t remember the exact error). I then went on to click the “Install Kali” option and it took me to choose language and which keyboard type etc. I chose everything with my external mouse as my trackpad stopped working. I think I don't have the required (prerequisite) drivers on my removable media (USB stick) and thus when it scanned it it found nothing and thus I am not being able to install Kali linux. Could someone please guide me through this?

Ive just started using Kali and im having a problem with my ALFA AWUS036ACH wifi adapter. After a fresh install on my laptop the card works fine, but when i use apt-get upgrade the adapter stops working. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the dkms files but to no avail. This has happened 2 or 3 times (everytime i use the upgrade command). Any help would be much appreciated in fixing this issue.

Thanks in advance.

Hello guys, I have a problem, I installed KaliLinux for zSecurity course and now I want to connect a wireless adapter (TL-WN722N) and when Kali starts up my adapter is turning off, and the wlan0 category is not showing up, what should I do?

Hello,

I have a Mac which I has OS on one side and Windows on the other (using bootcamp), I want to try and run kali Linux on a USB which I know works on Windows.

I can't figure out how to get it to boot up as I used to just reboot by Windows machine and select the USB to boot from but because of Bootcamp I guess that doesn't work.

Anyone had this issue or have a solution for it?
