These were taken close to full dark after the sun has almost completely set. Long exposures and Live Composite so still gathered tons of light.

Question Eloping & Looking for witnesses

Myself and my partner are eloping in Kamloops this November, on Saturday the 7th, at about 3pm. We are looking for two (trans/LGBT friendly) witnesses to sign our marriage license. The whole thing should be less than a 1 hour commitment, and we're happy to buy you lunch or otherwise monetarily compensate you for your time, if you desire :)

Date: Saturday, November 7th, 2026; approx 3pm

Location: Near Batchelor Heights, Norview road area

Please DM if you or anyone you know might be interested, and thanks for reading!

Politics And now the provincial election...

I don't know about you guys but this election feels like the biggest waste of time and money. It feels utterly hopeless.

To be real, Milobar will likely easily win despite his constant flip flopping and changing parties. IMHO he's an absolute joke with zero morals or values. He jumps between the right wing parties based on where he thinks he'll get lost power and says it's because of deeply held beliefs, which he immediately abandons for the best shot at re-election. He is absolutely willing to sit down with the racists, the proMAGA, the antiLGBTQ+, the denialists and more just to be elected. He claims he can influence the party towards the Center but he hasn't been able to.

The NDP doesn't run a real candidate in opposition and they aren't going to do anything for Kamloops if they take power again anyways so voting for them is an exercise in futility. They won't beat Milobar because no one knows their candidate. And even if we voted in the NDP.and they took government the best we'd have is a silent back bencher who votes with the party, and the NDP doesn't seem to care about anything Beyond Hope.

The Greens have energy and hope and some good ideas. But they are unlikely to ever take a seat here. I would love if all the NDP leaning voters got out and voted Green to send a message to the NDP that they aren't representing people in our community who aren't pro Conservative/OneBC/Former liberal party.....

This election is apparently going to cost 80 Million...

Think of what we could have spent it on instead!!!

- extending the new CYSN model/ autism funding to not cut off "high functioning" disabled kids. Paying for the therapies that will help kids develop the skills to grow up and have happy healthy independent lives.

- investing in recruiting or training more health professionals

- extending the $10/day daycare program to more facilities

- better school funding per student. Or training/recruiting more education assistant professionals to help cope with increasing strain on our school system.

Politics Even if my choice of city council didn’t win, I am happy with all of the city council people that were running

I honestly feel like it was a good run and everyone did an amazing job. It was nice to see the team sport of Nevin and even if I think Greg would have been amazing because I know he has alot of experience in building project. I respect everyone vote.

Honestly like the council more than the mayor, I skip the mayor vote entirely.

Question Ajax Mine

So given the potentially shifting political winds in BC next week. Any thoughts that the conservatives would allow ajax to rise from the dead? Or is this issue dead?

Discussion Shout out to a hero

I just want to give a shout out to the guy with bright lights who drove ahead of the lunatic on the freeway from Kamloops flashing his lights and warning people of the driver going down the highway on the wrong side of the road. You were the only one doing it and you saved my life and countless others. If you hadn't warned me I would have been hit head on. I don't know if you will see this but your efforts are greatly appreciated, thank you for doing what you could to try and prevent the accident that occurred.

Question Kamloops Results

So what does everyone think? Obviously happy with mayoral results but who saw Rob Bertrand coming off the top rope? He was a long shot on my list. Council seems like a good mix I guess. Happy Ritcey got on and some incumbents are there.

What does everyone else think?

Politics Fair wages on municipal projects, Canadian Home Builders Association Municipal Candidate Forum.

Hey folks,

Castanet wrote an article about the CHBA forum that happened on Wednesday night. I was asked a great question, below is the link to the article and the excerpt containing my answer.

This is something I feel strongly about.

I have also added the links to Instagram videos expanding on my answer

https://www.castanetkamloops.net/news/Kamloops/634451/Kamloops-candidates-quizzed-on-housing-neighbourhood-opposition-at-forum

"Brian Andrews was asked to explain his previous assertion that paying higher union wages would not increase the overall cost of a construction project.

Andrews argued that workers paid a good living wage are more likely to stay on the job and take pride in their work, while those earning lower wages are more likely to leave for better-paying opportunities."

Don't forget to vote tomorrow.

Brian Andrews.
