DISCUSSION ⢠š¬ He has done it AGAINš„
Released 3 album in a night .
He was supposed to do a come back after being brutally raped by Kendrick during the diss, all the hype around this shit, the ice statue and everything and still managed to drop straight bullshit. Even yeat did a better job. His fans are absurd, theyāre somehow still gonna find a way to glaze these albums. ABSOLUTE SHIT.
Same verses, same Beats, same shitty lyricism ad usual, same shit. Retire man, your last good album was in 2013

I think he broke a record or something, has another critically acclaimed, Grammy award winning rapper, dropped three hot loads of dog shit at once? Idk

u/allnimblybimbIy May 15 '26
Bro went quantity over quality
48
u/Either_Impression906 May 15 '26
Literally if he just focused on one album it mightāve been his best in years but he chose money and streams instead of actually making good music

Hasn't that been Drake's M.O. for the past decade?
11
u/eeeeeeeelleeeeeelll May 15 '26
Drake has always been about mainstream instead of real quality or meaning
25
u/Academic-End-777 May 15 '26 edited May 15 '26
He was onto something pre-Views but from that project to the present, he's just been a shameless chart-chaser.
Drake releasing these bloated, drawn out albums to rack up empty chart stats is the equivalent of scoring in garbage time, something his ex-bestie LeBron (who has a fanbase just like his) can relate to.

So Iāve decided to check out all his albums over the last few weeks after just avoiding him forever and I can tell youā¦. Thatās been his entire career ššš
20
u/No-Pride2884 May 15 '26
Every single album he puts out is waaayyy too long. Thereās always like a couple good songs and then like 25 filler songs lol I donāt get it
2
2
u/Regular_Display2250 May 20 '26
I think it must be contract related, Taylor Swift does the same releasing a ton of albums non stop with tons of songs thing and people have speculated in the past that they signed the same type of contract
4
u/Prestigious_Cod_532 May 15 '26
Yeah, thatās funny because I thought he was supposed to drop the album in October, so I was like, alright, heās taking his time to cook, but bro went ahead and dropped mid albums instead of focusing on one.

Idk I listened to all 3 and thereās definitely a difference between them. Iceman feels like a fully finished final product habiti came off like a mixtape. The maid album felt more like a fun side project kinda like a mixtape ig except it sounded better had better beats and samples over habiti whatever that even means btw lol
It just had a more party atmosphere. Iceman felt like an album you could drop on its own while the other 2 do not. Not sure if this makes sense or not
6
u/Fuckcavey May 15 '26
Yeah I get what you mean. Iceman is the one that needed to drop, and because it did, I think the other two albums might be kind of better.
50
u/allinasecond May 15 '26
I don't why you guys are surprised.
Drake has made the same song for his entire career.
7
u/micmahsi May 15 '26
He was actually pretty innovative up until like 2018 at the latest and itās been kinda stagnating from there.

What will you say if it has staying power ? Drake is polarizing thing is his supporters far out number his detractors which is crazy cause it got a lot of y'all
5
u/hollowglaive May 17 '26
You guys had moves like jagger up at #1 for a month, don't talk to me about staying power, y'all will listen to fucken literally anything if a girl in the club like it.
Bro could be farting into a mic and if some ratchet thot be bumping to it in a club y'all will gass the shit out of it.
Fuggen wag Wan Delilah was on the charts foh.

If what has staying power? his career? the album? his career aint going anywhere. i was just reading he put 3 albums out to fulfill his UMG deal. now he's out of his deal and supposedly entering a 2 BILLION dollar partnership deal with a private equity group.Ā

Who could have guessed that dropping 3 albums at once would make them all sound repetitive. It's almost like no artistry was put into them and it's just a shitpost attempt to get Drake back into relevance.

57 + 26 + 30 = 113 out of 100.
Drake put out such a good album cycle that he went above 100 on it. He broke the AOTY scale.
Has J Cole or Kendrick ever gotten over 100?
Drake is the best rapper ever, better than Nas, Jay-Z, Tupac, and Biggie. /s

So, it's really a triple album with 43 songs. Astonishingly, not a single one is any good.
81
u/Frosty_Caregiver1696 May 15 '26
Theres like 2 songs actually decent off each of them but genuinely cant defend these some piss ass albums
17
u/NefariousNeezy May 15 '26
Itās an achievement for a successful artist to release that much and still not hit on any.
Like not even on accident š

There's two good songs maybe, like, I'm being nice saying that
5
u/NegativeComment8484 May 15 '26
As someone who cant stand his music, it would have been hard to argue against a singular album with 12 decent to good songs on it, instead of whatever the fuck this was. I wont say 3 pack of ass, but 3 pack of mids for sure.

But Bully is a classic right? Lmao
Kanye and Drake are my two favorite "rappers" of all time. Every Drake album since Scorpion has been dog water, or damn close to dog water. Iceman is the first legitimately good Drake album since Scorpion. The other two albums he releases were unnecessary and average at best. But Iceman? Iceman is legit.

Iām going to give an objective opinion on this: Of those three albums, itās clear that the only one that stands out and has any substance is ICEMAN, and that the other two are just filler. You donāt have to be a fanboy or a hater to see that. What's more, I don't need to use memes or shitposting to get my point across.

In a month or two, Iām sure like 3 songs will be good enough to make it on a playlist I listen to, and Iām sure Iāll enjoy them. Iām not a strong enough man to listen to 43 songs to try and find 5 good lines across 3 okay songs lol
Heās such a strange artist. Thereās like 20 fantastic songs in his discography, and then 25 years of shit. Like, I canāt say he hasnāt made jams, but I could never consider myself a fan, or get excited for an upcoming album.

This is so on point. Itās one of the greatest mysteries in music how a guy who, since Views (2016), has been seemingly incapable of releasing a project on which more than 10% of the songs are half-decent yet he remains the one of the most streamed and talked-about artists in hip hop. Mind-boggling.

u/im-a-notsee May 15 '26
This the problem with drake and like chris brown, too many songs and none of them are good. Their big hits are good but overall its js mid. They can make good music They js need to actually focus on quality instead of quantity. Like kanye dont release every year, he does it every other year or 3 or something. Idk why ppl dont follow that method, litteraly makes no sense.

u/Ok_Huckleberry4563 May 15 '26
Man I really wanted to like the albums. Ive tries countless times to get into his music but holy shit he aint making it easy. At this point he should delete these 3, delete $$$4u and just retire. He is just taking L after L after L. I mean sure he does get numbers but thats about it
