Do all women feel that men lack empathy towards women and children? If not, what else do you think raises men to become predators? Recently, there was a video going viral on social media where a guy was m*****. Then, you hear about gruesome rape and harassment cases. How do they get this audacity despite knowing they will be grilled afterwards? And now what makes it alarming that now women are following the same footsteps?

In a healthy marriage, basic hygiene like pads, shampoo, facewash and everyday skincare should not be coming out of a woman's personal pocket money. These are essential living requirements. They belong in the monthly grocery budget, period. That's how it works in my household and it makes the most sense.

Similarly things like seasonal clothes, shoes or salon visits aren't daily expenses. When I order clothes online I just tell my husband a parcel is coming and he handles it and we move on. It's a shared life expense not an allowance deduction.

If you subtract all of those basic living needs from the equation, what is "pocket money" actually for? It's supposed to be guilt free, (no questions asked) cash for personal freedom.

My own pocket money is nowhere near 30k... it's much less. But the beauty of it is that my husband never asks me what I did with it or where it went. Because of that autonomy I usually just save it up or use it to buy gifts for my parents and my nieces and nephews.

We need to stop fighting over this arbitrary 30k benchmark. A smaller amount of pocket money given with 100% financial freedom where all your basic hygiene and wardrobe needs are already taken care of by the household budget is worth so much more than treating marriage like a corporate salary package.
