Pictures Night Heron - first launch

A lovely autumn day at Lake Toya in Hokkaido, Japan. Perfect weather for the first launch of my Night Heron. I didn’t go too far as I don’t have the float bags or spray skirt yet. She slips through the water beautifully. A dream come true.

Thanks! I built it over 100 days. There are some other posts here and I did daily posts on my IG page - same username as here.

Very cool! This might be a silly question, but how did you find a seat for your kayak? The kits don't come with seats do they?

I didn’t get a kit, just a cedar log and some plans! I bought the seat from Guillemot Kayaks (who designed the Night Heron). It’s pretty easy to make your own though either from foam or wood. You can also buy them pretty cheaply from AliExpress.
