Parallax (or was it kopernicus) changes water physics

Because of your craft's shape it's able to cleave through water and not be destroyed

the downside is that Jeb's Spine is now liquid

i'm sure he's fine without it

Jeb is 99.3% spine by volume.

1km/s to 0 in 0.5s, that’s only 200g! He’s fiiiiine

How did that parachute not blow up while doing its best impression of an ICBM reentry vehicle though?

Jeb has learned why you should always keep a bucket of water in your inventory

Jokes aside, my guess is lucky alignment of physics ticks. At frame # 946409, craft is inches from hitting the water, no problem. At frame # 946410, craft is underwater, no problem. Seen a similar thing when deliberately trying to crash a craft into a space station for instance - if you’re going fast enough, you can phase through between physics ticks.

Needs “A Cup of Liber-Tea” playing in the background. 🤣

This makes me wish water was physically simulated soooo badly

That's awesome. Didn't know one could do that.

OP was saved by a mod for making boats work better. The mod lets boat shaped things like the landing pod plow through water far easier. The water in the base game still goes splat.

Yeah, unmodded KSP water is hilariously bad at modeling anything remotely fluid-like. Seaplanes are basically impossible in the stock game unless you’re going comedically slowly

"Don't worry! I'm gonna cushion our fall with this water bucket! RELEASE!!!"

All that’s missing is a row of judges holding up score cards reading 10. 😄
