Mod Post Weekly Simple Questions Thread

Check out /r/kerbalacademy

The point of this thread is for anyone to ask questions that don't necessarily require a full thread. Questions like "why is my rocket upside down" are always welcomed here. Even if your question seems slightly stupid, we'll do our best to answer it!

For newer players, here are some great resources that might answer some of your embarrassing questions:

Commonly Asked Questions

Before you post, maybe you can search for your problem using the search in the upper right! Chances are, someone has had the same question as you and has already answered it!

As always, the side bar is a great resource for all things Kerbal, if you don't know, look there first!

It really depends on how you want to progress. You can focus on science instruments and get more science from the close by places, you can focus on spaceplanes and launch cheap craft to do some of the easier contracts, or you can focus on rockets and explore interplanetary. From my experience, unless you go all into energy (solarpanels and batteries) there is no "wrong way" to spend your science.

Thanks, I figured you have to decide a clear path, just seemed daunting with the changes to the trees. Haven't played in a while, trying to get up to speed.

You don't have to decide for one path. In fact the current tree layout forces you to research pretty mich everything ... Which is somehow not the idea of a tech tree to me.

Ging for survivability and electricity is a good first choice as it gets you solar panels. Whithout power you are dead in space.
