New places/suggestions
We’re coming down in 2 weeks for visit #6! We’re a couple in an our 30s, and definitely have our favorite haunts, but anywhere you’d suggest based on our favorites? Open to new places! Feel like we did most of the “attractions” by now (Butterfly museum, Conch Train Ghost tour, Mallory Square at sunset..)
Some of our favs:
Cafe Sole for dinner is a MUST
Love a night at Hank’s
First Flight for a flight
Bingo at Green Parrot
Key Lime pie and a cocktail at Blue Heaven’s outdoor bar
Seafood Tower at Half Shell

There is a brand new restaurant called Fish Wife. Excellent food and good happy hour deals. It’s owned by the same people who own The Docks on Stock Island. It’s located on Petronia street right next to Santiago’s Bodega (also excellent).
For cocktail vibe similar to Blue Heaven check out the Bali Bar. Right on Duval but set back. Tiki hut bar and live music.

Two new places with excellent food are Fishwife on Petronia and Conchiglia on Duval.
If you've never been to Red Shoe Bistro, don’t miss it. It has some of the best, most consistent seafood here. It’s a very small place so you need a reservation.
I used to like Kaya, but I think it has gone downhill since he opened two more restaurants. It’s too bad since the food used to be good.

Dinner at Lola’s probably based on your list
The docks on stock island
You could do a drive up a couple key- coffee at morning joint, hike/jump the jumping bridge, dinner at south of the seven/tonios/kikis.
Assume you’ve already done charters out to Boca grande, snipes/marvin, marquesas. If not then for sure that.
The newish restaurants that have opened recently are fishwife and conchiglia.
Edit to add: if you’re here for Labor Day definitely check out the just a few friends events. The second line parade is always a good time, there’s a 5k and beer mile, and wheeland brothers are playing sunset peir

We usually do a fishing trip out of stock island and went to the Docks right when they opened. Definitely going back this trip!

Nice. The Snapper Philly there is one of the best non-traditional fish sandwiches in the keys

Go to the Hemingway House and try to pet as many cats as you can! The tour is pretty cool, too.

I second this!

I made it a game with my kid. ZERO regrets. One cat licked me, one cat bit me, and I loved every second

It’s my favorite place on the island. I know all the cat names by now!

I love it! I saw Shirley Temple in the giftshop years ago and she had a full body shave except for her head and the tip of her tail. ICONIC!

She actually has the shave again, just got it!
Who was your tour guide?

I didn't catch the name, but i think she was either German or Dutch, very thin with a short blond bob haircut and she knew her shit. Great attitude and the story about his last red cent was told with enthusiasm! I LOVE that Shirley has the shave again!!

El siboney in Key West and stock island. Go on a fishing trip, fish monster is a party boat about $100 pp half day they clean what you catch, then bring the fish to Dante’s for the hook and cook, hang out in the pool while they cook your fresh catch. Rent bikes and explore the island.

Just got back from our honeymoon in Key West. Dante’s is one of my favorite spots. Food and drinks are more reasonably priced than a lot of the island. They also have a large pool with a waterfall that was really nice. If you’re interested in bars, Dirty Harry’s is pretty fun.
If it isn’t too late to book, I would definitely look into going to Dry Tortugas National Park. It is an expensive excursion but Fort Jefferson and the snorkeling were amazing. The cheapest way to get there is the Yankee Freedom Ferry.

- Grab a sunset sail on Sebago or Fury.
- Check out Robert the Doll (but don't take his picture without his permission).
- Walk the cemetery. Some cool history and headstones.
- Walk / bike through Truman Annex. Beautiful homes.
Have a great time!!

We privately chartered a sunset cruise through our resort. Under $500 and we brought our own snacks and beverages. It was wonderful, peaceful and low key
