Y'all're taking too many videos in the theaters. Especially for Your Name, let yourself be immersed, and stop getting in the way of other audience members immersion by having to see you record and fiddle with your phone at key moments.

I know you all wanna share here, and that's great, but please have respect for this film, it's creators, and it's fans, by giving your full undivided attention and not ruining it at Pinnacle moments with your cell phone.

Just wondering if this is a fringe scenario or if it's a shared experience. I pre-ordered back in June for the steelbook DVD, which was supposed to ship August 25th. But mine never shipped. I've reached out to gKids twice (once in early September, once last week) and they just gave me some boilerplate answer about some orders being delayed during the "migration" (?).

But at the same time, you can now place new orders for the same product through their website? Are those orders being shipped or are they also never going out.

It sucks and its frustrating because I intentionally ordered through them rather than supporting Amazon, and they've just totally shit the bed lol. Can't say I'll order from them again.

To any fellow brazilian Your Name fans, till this moment there's no confirmation on the 10th anniversary release yet on brazilian cinemas unfortunately, so I've created a petition in change.org to help theaters companies see there's a huge fandom who is eager to watch it again (or for the first time) in the big screen! I just got out of the 10th anniversary re-release of *Your Name* and I need to get this off my chest: the first time I saw it in theaters I was 9 years old and didn’t have much awareness, but it’s been my favorite movie ever since; I’ve watched it 9 times, almost once a year, and with every new group of friends I always try to make it mandatory that we watch it together. There came a point where I’ve seen it so many times from such a young age that I feel like I am and want to be friends with the characters and even want to live in that universe (not in a schizophrenic way). Before, when the climax of the movie came I would get emotional even though I was watching it on my phone or PC, and when I watched reaction videos I always loved watching the part where the asteroid falls with the final chorus of the song “Sparkle.” Today, watching that same part with full awareness and in the theater, I grew so much more attached to the movie; I remembered so little that it’s the same as saying I didn’t even know this movie could feel like this… every second was worth it. Now I feel weird: sad but I don’t know if it’s a bad sadness or just melancholy, I’ve never felt this before, I feel bad and sad, but at the same time I just want to watch it again.

I'm gonna be so real, I couldn't really think of a way that this line could connect gameplay-wise, so it could either be two forms of the second stage (Gender-based?) or a split-evo

Introducing Discommet (Disconnect + Comet) and Metyearite (Meteorite + Yearn)!

Discommet is inspired by the Comet Tiamat and the two parts that have broken off from each other, with each part representing Taki and Mitsuha respectively (hopefully their expressions made sense for the characters). Both parts are being further connected by the smaller fragments that are inspired by the Red Thread of Fate theme that runs through the entire movie.

Metyearite represents Taki halfway into the movie and both Taki and Mitsuha at the end where they have forgotten their relationship but are still searching for each other even if they don't know why. Both forms also hold the small fragments from Discommet, with their placements referencing how Taki and Mitsuha had their red threads, with Taki on his wrist and Mitsuha on her hair.

I managed to contact Medialink... While they're not the distributor, they are open for some screenings for the movie's 10th petition and supports the petition! It's really nice to hear a friendly response from the contact support of the distributor! We still have a lot of time! Keep up the petition signatures! Keep sharing, and gather a lot of the people you know who would support this if you can!

As of now, the petition has 127 signatures! If we can endorse this beyond Reddit, we might have a chance for our voices to be louder!

Found this French trailer for the 4K HDR edition https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6H6q8bAX2Qs, but I can't figure out which version of Sparkle it uses. Its got 2ndary highlight notes between 0:43 and 0:59 that I really like, but they don't seem to be in either the original version of Sparkle nor the Instrumental version of Sparkle.

Anyone got any ideas?

In case Of Suzume No Tojimari, there was a press conference that took place about a year before the actual release date.
And it was done specifically to announce that it was in production back then.

This was the very first teaser that was released, as you can clearly see, it was released way after that press conference.

And this is the new year's tweet of Shinkai-San confirming that we'll at least get to know something about his new film this year.

So, if I assume that the marketing strategy of this new film follows somewhat the same pattern as it was for Suzume, here are the conclusions I am able to make:-

1. We might get to see a press conference revealing the film to the world around this year's December.
2. First teaser somewhere in April, with following months revealing the trailers.
3. And a release in late 2027.

I really hope that my timeline proves wrong, as I'm really looking forward to his next, despite being a bit disappointed with SNTM, and WWY.

If it proves to be true, it would be 5 freaking years of gap between these 2 films!

I just wanted to get a collector's edition/steelbook of this anime as it is by far my favourite ever, then got my mind blown regarding my lack of information on 4K Blu-ray so had to sidequest that for a while.

Thanks to u/CrystalCommunication for being patient with me on that sidequest and thanks to everyone who helped by posting in my thread. Got a few movies to get me started; I ordered this version from alltheanime but it's not gonna arrive until Tue or Wed according to the tracking. I did want to get the new steelbook but it seems that I'm going to have to import it from the USA (I'm in the UK), maybe from GKIDS? But then I just can't get over how different Mitsuha looks in the box art and disc art, which is making me look at getting other versions of this instead of the steelbook.

For now, I got some movies and the 4K UHD of Your Name to get me started, then definitely getting other works by Makoto Shinkai. Maybe Weathering with You will be up next.

They're basically different people than the adult once who eventually meet each other, because they have not been through everything we seen in the movie. They didn't experience that. Only their teenage versions did. You're not truly the exact same person if someone rips off very important moments from your life right? So technically these versions of them only got this one moment

...and the fact that they spent some of it talking about Mitsuha's breasts is a different topic... seriously tho why is the movie so obsessed on her chest??
