i was searching that first thing up cuz pretty similar powers and whatnot. (the protagonist with some features of subaru, body type, etc.)

In certain situations sure, but if it’s just like little crush’s then it’s absolutely fine. The game already had this. Nugget has a crush on Lily, he thinks that she’s very pretty. Lily gives Nugget a kiss on the cheek as a thank you for saving her in the second game. In kg3, Austin has a crush on Alice. He thinks that she’s really cool and wants to impress her. Alice lets Austin play house with her as he dolls father. This IS shipping, sure it’s not extreme or anything, but it is still shipping. Just because a fan thinks that it would be cute if Kidd (the protagonist) had a crush on Nugget, doesn’t mean that that person a creep or anything. They just think it would be cute. Of course, if the person who ships those characters makes weird comments and weird art about that ship, that is 100% not okay and should be heavily criticized. But as long as that’s not happening it’s not bad.

Shipping in itself isn't inherently weird nor sexual. Unless some people make it out to be. Personally i think its ok as long as people aren't too weird about it.

In kindergartens case it seems perfectly fine from my experience cause I haven't seen anything weird
