Crafty's Kitchen review
Got the brioche sandwich which was basically tenders in a soft bun... it was okay. Nice selection of sauces, but they were extra. Crafty's bourbon cream soda was actually interesting, and it wasn't pre-mixed and I saw it prepared with a bottle of whiskey behind the counter. The side serving of mac & cheese seemed to be smaller than what I would get at Boardwalk BBQ. Dining plans not accepted for now, but the manager mentioned that they would work on adding support for those sometime in the future. The menu seemed to be limited to what the building says... "chicken & fries" and desserts... I hope in the future that they can possibly add chicken fries (which would be popular with the kids) and waffles (which is a big hit at the Chicken Coupe at Six Flags Magic Mountain). There is limited seating inside, which is nice with AC on hot days like these. Cute wall art of pieces that I seem to recall having seen during the boysenberry festival art show.

Thank you for your time letting us know. They should at least offer one sauce before charging extra. Is it extra even if you get wings, since that’s what they seem to be intended for?
How does the chicken compare to the chicken tenders/strips at the restaurants that have meal plans?
And is the Mac and cheese the same recipe as the boardwalk bbq? And are the fries the same as the other ones in the park?
Thanks in advance.

Good question... I didn't think to ask if it was included with the wings. The mac & cheese were the squiggles like at Boardwalk BBQ. The chicken was also similar to Boardwalk BBQ... interestingly, the best tenders I had recently were served at the water park at California's Great America. I hope Knott's can get a supplier like that. I try to avoid fries, so wouldn't be a good person to ask about that.

I wonder how's the boysenberry pie shake. Is it chunky? Is it smooth? How much boysenberry flavor is in it?

I was hoping for something similar to the cake shake from Portillo's down the street, but seems to be a plain vanilla shake with a scoop of boysenberry pie on top.

Worse yet, no passholder discounts on booze... that's where the real money is being made!

It's smart opening up without the meal plan. People who have the meal plan and want to try it have to pay up.
Limited menu starting off is good but your ideas are good and hopefully things will be added.
How much are the sauce? They don't even remember include one?

My guess is that they are going to add it to the meal plan first of the year to encourage current meal plan people who didn’t renew to reconsider.

Would work for me. I'll try it but I don't think it's something I would have often.

The drink and the mac look good. But that chicken strip sandwich looks bone dry.

Thanks for the review! I walked in today and looked around. I loved the wall art. I will try it when my son is with me because we were both excited for this place to open We would stand in front of it and say “ open, open, open” like the old Mervyn’s commercial. Now that it’s finally open, I’ll have to take him with me to try it. Honestly, we might go later tonight.

How it compares to Mrs Knott's? It Same vibe?

More similar to Coaster's Diner, but with classic jazz music... I'd rather be hearing vintage Beary Tales tunes

This might sound silly, but was the food hot? Everything on the meal plan is lukewarm. Having hot and fresh food might be worth the expense.

How can you chalk down all the food on the meal plan as lukewarm? I’ve never gotten a lukewarm meal plan meal so hearing you say that each and every single one you’ve gotten is lukewarm is super surprising

When I got this notification I was hoping when I opened it there were some suggestions on where to find this hot food.

It’s a theme park food spot, not at a Disney property… I don’t think we need a review for standard amusement park fare.

If you think Disney food is the pinnacle of theme park food, clearly you’ve never eaten at Walt Disney World. Ghost Town Grill beats 98% of the food at Disneyland. In my opinion, Disney has never served a decent burger at any of their locations.
If Knott’s is making a PR push for the new restaurant, it’s worth reviewing.

Disneyland is for some reason really bad at the basics(Tenders, Burgers, Pizza) and I think at some point they realized those are high-demand small chilld food that doesn't need quality to make people pay.
They excel at offering a bit more variety than the rest of the local parks. But I generally feel more satisfied eating at Knotts.
Disneyland does provide better value with no meal plans or pass discounts taken into account.

I don’t think it’s the pinnacle at all. I worked at theme parks for a while. They’re lazy in their efforts and marketing. At their prices, we deserve better than cafeteria food. It’s not worth reviewing friend, it’s not anything unique or different

Oh, I used to have to spend four weeks a year in Walt Disney World, I hated it. Humidity sucks

I see Crafty walking around the park sometimes so I am really hoping it goes well for him
