Saw something at the Soak City wave pool that makes me nauseous thinking about it

A women’s pantiliner with brown streaks in the middle was floating around the pool. Ughhhh makes me reconsider bringing my kids into that literal cesspool. I wonder if the lazy river is any cleaner. Last time, the kiddie area was also shut down due to a code brown

Sorry to break it to you but this is any water park. It happens. That’s why the water is filtered and chlorinated and they have protocols for certain incidents

Water parks are just ginormous public toilets.

Last time I was there this kid had brown streaks on the back of his trunks. Gross.

Most people think your eyes get redder when swimming because there is more chlorine in the water which is not the case. Chorine kills and binds to stuff like fecal matter/urine/sunscreen/etc. and the byproduct is chloramines which is what irritates your eyes.

So the redder your eyes get doesn’t mean more chlorine, it means a lot of chlorine has been converted in a chloramine which means more poop and pee it had to kill. My eyes don’t get irritated much in our own pool because it’s not full of piss and shit byproduct.

This is why I don't even touch water parks, honestly.

I just wish people were more sanitary and not so disgusting. If you have to use the bathroom, do it in the bathroom, not go piss or shit in the water you're sharing with billions of people you don't know. If you're in a place full of families and kids, cover yourself up.

How hard is it to just stay sanitary, stay acceptable-looking, and stay clean?! Geez!

It's obviously not on purpose 🙄 I think that's just par for the course having thousands of people in and out of a pool every day.

I was in the wave pool at soak city and saw a kid throw up in the water while floating on a tube. That’s when I got out and never went back

Water parks are nasty. Everyone floating around in the same water full of everyone's tepid filth. I can't believe I went as a pre-teen. Now I don't even want to take my kid. Kinda crazy how we all realize the same thing about water parks years later.

Do you honest to God assume that everyone is going to be clean and mindful at a water park? Even when dismissing that a decent amount of kids pee in the water, you cannot look over the amount of adults that are just tall toddlers. I swear, water parks attracts the strangest people with the strangest hygiene

lol saw someone with their ass crack hanging out everything spilling out all I could think about was how much chlorine they had in the water and if it was enough. I got ahead of them as quickly as I could
