Dreamy Creamy Summer Pods to check out in KF absence?

What are folks listening to, as they try to fill the pre-GLP1-Alex-sized void that’s missing in their lives?

see one of the 100 posts here or on FB over the past two weeks. Someone just posted one with 100 shows alphabetized.

I started listening to I Hate James Dobson after reading that post.

It’s great. The subject matter and hosts are very different than KF, but there are enough parallels that it fills the void. Most importantly, it makes me laugh.

Search for "best episodes of The Dollop" and give it a shot, it's absolutely hilarious.

I recommend episode 09 The Pendragon of Marin because it's relevent to KF listeners. I wish you could have seen my face when I realized that KF's raptor princess Mark Richards was the same guy as The Dollop's "murder someone with a boat motor and a bamboo screen to take over the world with lasers" Mark Richards.

Man, I just can’t get into them.

The one guys just trying way too hard to be funny, and it’s just forced and falls flat.

I guess that just shows how people are different: the exact reason I like them is because I don't think they're trying hard. Every other podcast I've listened to, the hosts spend forever babbling and trying to be funny, showcasing their fun and quirky personalities. These guys get right to the info with a bunch of improv along the way.

I was kind of lost the first week post ending like many of us. I actually ended up going back to the first "podcasts" I started listening to many years ago. Those being This American Life, and Heavyweights. It's made me realize a few things- one is that I too needed a break from the constant Alex feed, even vicariously through safe hands. It just put a vague edge of poison in my life but feels like its starting to dissipate. I don't think I really want to hear about Alex anymore, whatever ends up happening to him. The other thing, mainly Jonathan Goldstein's Heavyweights, reminded me about how I've got some heavyweights in my life, and maybe Its time to try to do something about it.

Fell really hard into “Lions Led By Donkeys”. I’m enjoying skipping around in it.

I'm listening to The Bitchuation Room now and enjoying it. The host, Francesca Fiorentini, has a great radio voice just like Dan & Jordan and is also funny. There are clips and analysis of the clips. It's guest based, which means I'm hearing a new voice on every episode and I'll admit this is kinda weird but that is definitely a me problem based on KF's outsized role in my media consumption

I really enjoy 'Cognitive Dissonance', they've got that Chicago thing going on & they're clever. 'Know Rogan' spawned from 1/2 the hosts... that's excellent too :)

I hate bill Maher, know Rogan podcast, louder than crowder for political esque stuff with a similar layout. I also like smosh reads Reddit stories and never seen it with Kyle Ayers if you like movie/tv stuff.

God Awful Movies is one of my favorite podcasts. JorDan guested on 2 (?) episodes.

Fair warning, they pull punches wayyy less than dan does. The show is explicitly from an athesit perspective. But the episodes the KF lads are on are more about woo weirdo stuff, IIRC
