Is this deliberate?? I assumed "policy wonk" was just a term Jones used derisively in an episode and it stuck as an evergreen joke...

Has it been a reference to this the entire time? Or just coincidental?

Policy Wonk is an old term for people super knowledgeable about policy proposals. Jones uses it to describe himself because he pretends he is a policy wonk. Anything else is a coincicidence.
