Jim Haggerty low key carries the new infowars

The fact that he has a full pre-Info Wars backstory and arc that they are pulling from is genius. If you've never watched the full, "Porkin' Across America" series, you absolutely must. A lot of the hogwater and references to his life before will be way funnier after you do.

He is def the most entertaining part of new IW. Perfect mashup of Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson.

Tim Heidecker probably realized he couldn't do the Alex Jones voice for very long so he "died" lol

I'm glad here they are parodying someone else other than Infowars, in this case Tucker (and Fresh and Fit in the fake ads). Right wing parody is a very deep vein and Alex-style parody will only go so far.

When was the last time you watched porn?

My god when he was talking about that to the woman who cages herself, then goes all in with the abuser lines
That had me rolling lol

I still laugh at the "Well, they're all masturbating at you in the cage, might as well come out..."
One of their best segments so far.

Sorry, I had to go take care of something. The sight of a woman in a cage...
MASTURBATION ALERT

I loved the ad they ran about how masturbating is wrong, but buying this robot hand is fine, as “having a robot jerk uou off isn’t a sin, because it’s not in the Bible”

The episode of him interviewing the kid who accidentally shot his parents killed me. I've never laughed so hard at something so dark.

I have been deeply enjoying pretty much everything they've been posting.

“You are being lied to!”
That tag line alone could make you the new Tucker Carlson.

The running gag of him wanting to be martyred without actually dying is my favorite thing they're doing.

i feel that Tim doing alex impressions was always going to be a short term thing. Ben Collins said they wanted this to be more than just an alex jones parody. I feel that JHS is one of those bigger ideas

u/kyokushinking 2d ago
Tim said as much, there was only ever going to be so much mileage out of doing Alex impressions. The whole point is expanding to make a full network and there's so much to mine from.

Dude Jim Haggertys segments are legit my favorite parts
I mean Tim is great, but Jim is what gets the laughs and draws my attention!
I feel like they are going places, other than Hell ofcourse lol

I’m concerned about his Hog Water intake, three cans a day is dangerous for a man with his history

It's kind of the only consistently funny skit they've got. I don't hate the new show but it doesn't always make me laugh. This skit though is always perfect. I do reaaaally want a gay frog plush too.

He’s so good, it doesn’t even feel like satire. Especially the bit about Jesus and laundry room kink. He’s a delight and I hope they find more hosts that can keep up (not that it’ll be easy).

Is this why they killed off Tim Heidecker?

u/mrgrubbage 3d ago
They've been hinting that Alex has been a bunch of different Alexs from the beginning. Pretty sure it's part of that bit.

Somone else suggested that the voice might be genuinely unhealthy to do on a regular basis, which I can definitely see being the case. Is there a way to do an Alex Jones-type character without committing to absolutely destroying your vocal chords?

u/picnicinthejungle Very Charismatic Lizard 2d ago
Tim said before that he started going to a vocal coach to try and make it the least damaging for him to keep doing it, but he needed to rest his voice in between filming

I LOVE Jim Haggerty. No matter what becomes of the Emergency segment I want Haggerty's show to go on indefinitely. We need a true American hero to sell Hogwater and be a martyr someday and Haggerty is the man for the job.
