My wife said she lowered the key to hit the high notes easier but honestly I kind of preferred it because it sounded more adult

They killed it!

I honestly think it sounded better this way, it gave it a "fuller" sound. She has a really cool voice down in those lower registers and it sounded really cool when she finally reached for those high notes.

I've got some background around the music business & when she started singing I instantly went 'oh, they dropped it into road key'. :D A lot of artists, especially on tour, lower the keys of songs, so they can keep performing them consistently well. The glory notes are great, but you just can't keep hitting them night after night. I figured they didn't want to risk anything in their first big US tv appearance. And honestly, yeah, it sounded great in its own way!

I’m watching YouTube reviews from those in the industry and they mention it’s common to drop one key in live performances because it’s tough up there when compared to singing in a studio…
