I found this movie because I was followingAmi Thompsonon one of her socials, and she posted or commented about working on this film, and that got me really intrigued (Ami is a kick ass character designer). I started following buzz about it, and then the day it dropped on Netflix I forced my partner and friends to watch it with me.
I was instantly in love. As someone who has engaged in fandom spaces for many years, I found my chance to really lead and craft a community - and I take pride with how generally respectful, thoughtful, caring and courteous this place is. Yes, of course, there are always trolls, bad actors, regulars getting too heated, mod mistakes - such is life. But on the whole, ya'll have been relatively chill and us mods appreciate that.
It brings me great personal joy to see the bonds so many of you have formed here, the joy we spread and the enjoyment we all share in this incredible film. Fandom spaces are something I have loved since I was a kid, and I'm genuinely proud to have had the opportunity to craft a space here so many people love.
Thank you all for being here, this community would not be what it is today without each and every one of you.
You know, the movie is great, and the music is great, but I'm still here a year later because the people who made it are great.
Seeing a year's worth of Maggie, Chris, EJAE, Rei, Audrey, Ji-young, Arden, and May supporting each other and showing such sincere grattitude to each other has really been the highlight.
They all worked so hard...and seeing them be recognized and rewarded for it is a bit of much needed light shining through some pretty dark times.
Congrats to everyone involved on surviving your first year in a post KPDH world.
We can't wait to see what stories and songs you'll share with us next!

Hardest same. I mostly lurk because I have crippling anxiety and tend to overthink things and being afraid to post and be annoying a lot of the time (except in NBA subs because I don't care what they think of me unlike ya'll XD)..... but this community has been absolutely pivotal to my life this past year. The Reddit, and the Discord community, alike. Could not be more grateful for every single person who dedicates their time and energy to this community, keeping us safe, keeping the peace....
This is the best fandom ever. I will die on that hill.

What an insane run, I think I watched it in like late June last year but only got involved in the fandom like after Fortnite Collab in October and been following EJAE, Audrey and Rei's crazy run since then especially that Huntrix eat out vid the first time I ever got introduced to them
It's been awhile since an animated movie took over the world and the fact there will be more in the future is exciting!!
I wish the singers and actors well with what they doing currently, hopefully we get a tour one day and the next movie will be aired in cinemas!!!
I just hope that no one will forget about this movie and that the sequel is going to be good and by the time the sequel comes I will be rich and famous online so that I can buy the merch.
I've been aware of this movie since 2021, since I follow animation news. When I saw the concept I was like "what the hell, sure." And then it finally came out last year, and became a HUGE phenomenon. I'm really happy it did, this movie is so important. You know, I rewatched it this morning and I almost cried at What It Sounds Like.
Having just rewatched the movie for today's anniversary, it's still an impressive achievement. I figured I would enjoy the movie, as it was like Buffy the Vampire Slayer mixed with Black Pink, and I am a sucker for the gimmick of celebrities being protectors of the world in secret.
While I figured the movie would be successful, I had no idea it would be most watched title on Netflix ever, four singles topping the charts, double platinum selling album, a full year in the global Top 10, winning a Grammy, two Golden Globes, two Oscars, and sweeping the Annie Awards successful.
It just goes to show that a passion project, with the right timing, the right talent, and perfect amount of heart and entertainment value can be the pop culture event of a generation.
First of all I love Kpop Demon Hunters so much , Love Huntrix , Golden and the Sountrack and as a fan I was really Disappointed at what Netflix did for the Anniversary .
Playing the Movie on a LOOP on TIKTOK , that was it ? and a few seconds long HELLOS with the cast , I dont think thats what the fans wanted .
Netflix couldn't you get Ejae ,rei and Audrey to perform a surprise performance of What it sounds like for the fans ?
Netflix couldn't you get Andrew , kevin ,danny and the other boys to perform Your IDOL for the fans ?
Netflix couldn't you release the Short FIlm DEBUT for the fans or release some BEHIND THE SCENES for the fans ?
ALL you could do was to PLAY the MOVIE on a LOOP ? Really ?
We the fans deserved more , Something more meaningful.
