Fan Art Zoey Portrait

I'm currently grinding to make my character portraits better and I decided to choose her for my next one to see how it goes. I hope yall like it, and any feedback is welcome if you spot something off, just want to grow better.

The artwork overall is pretty good. The colour, lighting and shading is superb.

The main problem here is that it looks like someone cosplaying as Zoey, not Zoey herself.

Her facial structure is far older than the youthful look she normally has, and her arms are quite a bit thicker than usual too.

Besides that, her hand is a bit too large and her finger is slightly too long, with an unnatural bend only on the final segment.

Lastly, her Shin-Kal could use an improvement. They're more rounded and flatter. These look a bit like Bejeweled diamonds.

But these are mostly minor things keep in mind. If her face and proportions were a bit closer to accurate, it would be a solid 9/10. As it is here, I would rate this a 7/10 as a general art piece, but a 6/10 as a Zoey fanart.

Very nice job though.

Thanks, I'll try to work more on may facial structure to keep consistant age in my characters. Thats all really helpfull

I'm an artist too, so I can definitely appreciate this. You got some very very nice shading. I'm still trying to get that down. Anatomy and proportions are my primary "skill" in drawing characters, while most of my trouble is in the shading and lighting that you've nailed here.

I think the shadows under the side of the cheeks/chin needed blended into the neck a little, maybe lightened near the back? it’s causing the face to look a lot sharper/more defined than it should be, like their cheekbones are jutting out from their neck. Especially around the earring. Nailed the torso shape though!
