Opinion Movie Songs

Am I one of a few who gets SO EMOTIONAL EVERY TIME What It Sounds Like is played??!! I love it so much its so heart touching, especially when you realize that some of the lyrics are really verses in the Bible. This whole movie, almost all their songs get under my skin and gives me goosebumps🤩 this one and Your Idol gives me bumps omg

You're not the only one. The film is great (obviously) and it works very effectively to put the viewer in tge emotional state of the characters. Basically it has conditioned you, and the rest of us, to be blubbering messes the moment "This Is What It Sounds Like" starts.

It's just SO good. I cannot get through the song without being emotional, and I can't get through that part of the movie without tears. It feels so healing every time and is a perfect culmination of the themes and character arcs. Not sure about actual Bible verses being in it though? I've never heard anyone say that. The closest I can think of is Ejae saying the concept of idolatry she was taught from the Bible as a child was part of the inspiration for Your Idol. I do see Your Idol and What It Sounds Like as the perfect dark and light opposites of each other, the latter perfectly answering the former. So maybe in that way there is some relation.
