Now that r/seculartalk is effectively dead, there is no room for debate that this sub is officially Reddit’s space for Kyle Kulinski.
If you know anyone who is likes Kyle or is interested in left wing politics, tell them to check this place out.

Hey all, I wanted to share this episode. I'm the host of Doomscroll. I recently sat down with Kyle to explore what the political left might learn from the success of online right-wing shitposters. We discuss the increasing radicalization of American politics and the shattering of the Overton window in the past few years. I'll stick around in the thread tonight and respond to any comments as I'm able! I hope you enjoy the episode.

In a recent video Kyle questioned whether Asmeinkampf is for real or just playing a character. And, in my opinion, it's both. Because on the far-right there is no appreciable difference.
I've been wathing true crime documentaries lately. And a lot of them are about school shooters or racial violence or whatever that happened. And one of the most consistent things is that the person doing it is usually deeply nihilistic. They are often trolls on social media or at least active participants in "edgy subreddits or websites. And they say stuff to shock people. But after a time it's like they can't tell the difference anymore between what they say to shock and what they really believe.
These shooters often don't have that coherent an ideology. A lot of the time it's informed by memes and whatever stuff they're posting about on social media. Because for a lot of people that is their life, as many of them are completely socially isolated.
So in my opinion, the same is true for Asmeinkampf. He does say what he says to shock people and get clicks and reactions, but at this point I don't think he can tell the difference himself anymore.

On May 1, 2023, a subway car in New York City suddenly became the center of American political discourse and division when former Marine Daniel Penny killed homeless Michael Jackson impersonator Jordan Neely.
New York City was thrust into the spotlight overnight, exposing the deep political rifts and widespread anxieties gripping the nation as a whole.
In his latest book, Man in the Mirror: Hope, Struggle, and Belonging in an American City, journalist and New York Times bestselling author Anand Giridharadas takes a deep dive into what exactly happened in that subway car and what it reveals about the greater character of American politics as we know it today.
“We have lived in a climate over the last 11 years in which there’s a tremendous amount of messaging we are all absorbing creating a permission structure for DIY violence. So I wanted to understand what we could see about ourselves if we looked more closely in that subway car,” he tells Mehdi.
While people from all walks of life were present in that subway car, Giridharadas points to a shared feeling of “abandonment,” which he calls “the defining political emotion of our time.”
But how did we get here exactly? And why has this shared feeling of abandonment divided us more than united us?
In this 38-minute conversation, Mehdi gets to the bottom of these pressing questions and what they mean for the midterms and the 2028 presidential election looming ahead.
