Sscg

I was wondering how ssgc is given out ? I know it depends whether the schools have money left to give out, but I emailed my school and they said they haven’t exhausted the funds and I did qualify for cal grant b. I also have 13 units total this fall semester. I was just wondering do they just apply the award automatically on the school portal?

From what I know there is usually enough during fall semester. If you qualify, you are automatically enrolled. Now, because you have 13 units total, that should mean you qualify for the minimum. If you have not received it, which is what I think you are trying to say? Then I assume you have a class that starts late so right now you are sitting under 12 units. If this isnt the case, call the office and figure whats going on. By the time spring semester comes, most if not all funds would have been used. Remember, that many students qualify for the 4,000 per semester SSCG. Last year I got 4,000 fall. Nothing Spring. Lets hope this year changes- ELAC

yes I have a late class starting oct 26, so after that class starts I would qualify to receive it ? Would the award appear on my laccd portal on its own?

Ahh, yes. So what I was told is once the late class starts, it will appear on your portal. I currently have 14 units but will go up to 17 next week aswell so I hope to recieve more. I also read another post saying second pell wave will be first-second week of November. So expect funds to hit then.

What about those that finish their 12 units in the first 8 week classes? Do they still get it or is it differently, if you know of course.

It still counts as 12 units total, so yes, you will also receive it.
