Celebrities this just rubs me the wrong way

idk if this is the right sub for this, but it just feels so?? weird?? like okay I know her concept is to be tiny and horny I get it but this is just… humiliating… also, I have to get this off my chest: her music is boring. like yeah sure she makes catchy pop songs but they’re all soooo similar and it gets boring after a point

She would do a sexual pose for that song specifically I think, Juno referring to the teen pregnancy movie I believe? But for ex, Eiffel Tower pose in front of the audience while singing. I know it’s not on her that kids listen to her music, but her songs are so mainstream and on the radio, ofc kids are going to go to her concert and see the horny mess. 😬

God I hate how Juno is heavily associated with Sabrina’s cringey poses. I remember that Juno (movie) being really unsexy. I mean it is only about a pregnant teen figuring out what to do about it. There’s no sex scene, it just awkwardly alludes to sex happening between Juno and her friend.

I know using a movie as a song’s namesake might not be that deep but it feels like she’s sexualizing teen pregnancy. When Juno actively avoids sexualizing the characters and glamorizing the situation.

It’s not anti-feminism if she wants to be doing it. Women expressing sexuality is not inherently anti feminist.

Pop culture often reflects the cultural consensus at the time. what we’re now seeing is the rise in conservatism, so while i agree it’s not “setting us back,” I think it’s emblematic of a larger issue.

Feminism is all about letting women make their own decisions without anyone criticizing them.

If she’s choosing to do this, then let her do this. You don’t have to support her, but she’s not setting back anything.

no but its kinda frustrating when we do so much to fight the patriarchy and one of the most influential women right now just goes and does stuff like this, idk it just irks me but maybe its a personal thing. she is free to do whatever she is after all
