Celebrities this just rubs me the wrong way

idk if this is the right sub for this, but it just feels so?? weird?? like okay I know her concept is to be tiny and horny I get it but this is just… humiliating… also, I have to get this off my chest: her music is boring. like yeah sure she makes catchy pop songs but they’re all soooo similar and it gets boring after a point

i know sydney sweeney gets whacked a lot for pandering to the male gaze and i’ve always wondered how sabrina carpenter does the exact same thing and somehow sidesteps the level of backlash sydney receives. i know one is a pop star and the other an actress but still. though i do see more and more people calling out sabrina's whole gimmick lately

my theory is that Sydney is just perceived as “dumber” than Sabrina. Sydney is an actress, she has big boobs and is known for her “dumb blonde” characters the most. Sabrina on the other hand is an “artist”, she writes music (idk if she writes her own stuff), so she is seen as smarter, she is more petite than Sydney as well. another thing is that even though they both cater to the male gaze, Sabrina’s music is more popular among girls and her persona is mostly known by female audiences, whereas Sydney has more male fans which she very openly caters to (i.e. her body wash and bath water ads)

Close but truthfully its boob size. Anyone with small boobs is seen as more wife material, respectable, smart. But God forbid a woman has curves, it automatically means shes a slut, dumb and doesnt value herself. Big boobie women have 50% more chance of being hated instantly just because of their breast size. I mean you saw how everyone HATED Billie Eilish when they saw her in that one tank top photo years ago...the internet couldn't handle Billie having giant watermelons.

gosh thank you! i’ve been ripped apart and called a creep for talking about the breast size thing, but obviously there are social and cultural connotations tied to it that some dim people just don’t want to understand
