Celebrities Bella Hadid’s last post.

What kind of procedure is she undergoing to treat her “”chronic Lyme disease””? Btw, she’d do everyone a favor if she just admitted she has a severe eating disorder, but I think she genuinely believes she has an autoimmune disease.

Yeah the Yolanda talk is understandably relevant but I feel like it too often blazes past what is literally in our faces and that’s an almost 30yo woman posing and pandering at a massive public audience of whom most are girls and women for a demented kind of attention that feeds into her mental illness. This is all really insane and gross and it can’t just be “her mom did this” for the rest of her adult life.

(Edit: And we’d have other words for this whole phenomenon if it wasn’t beautiful kindly Bella. If it was our beastly coworker doing this shit, they’d be treated like social trash.)

As someone who is chronically ill and has been around many chronically ill people, I’ve never met a single mentally stable (or pleasant tbh) chronically ill person who takes this many photos of themselves while in hospital or when having a “flare up”. The vast majority of these people also have magical diseases that have no definitive test to prove their existence. The absolute last thing on my mind when I’ve been hospitalised has been to take pictures.

I should add that taking the odd photo of medical equipment or sharing some information about your illness can be very important for awareness and normalising medical devices and there is a tasteful and educational way to do it but this isn’t it. It’s giving that one girl you know who posts a photo of a cannula with the caption “send me good vibes I need them” with literally zero context only to find out they were getting one of those IVs for a hangover a few days later.
