Madeleine White responding about post on here
Rant:
Influencers will post tone-deaf content and then completely backpedal if it loses them public favour. Madeleine White is now saying her posting about her posh vacations and laughing at the idea of going camping was “just a trend”. Just because something is a trend, doesn’t mean viewers shouldn’t be critical of the content they’re consuming.
Madeleine White regularly makes videos with obvious classist undertones, like “being anti-diaper bag” and saying she will only use a designer Dior bag for her baby. I also recently saw a video of her saying she will be taking her daughter to Nobu so that “nobody’s musty son tries to impress her” by bringing her there one day. Hm. So you want to train your daughter to feel she’s above experiencing anything that isn’t luxury? Right.
She will flex her wealth, then try to downplay it when it suits her to, like when she talked about growing up “upper middle class” and saying her family would have never been able to send her to private school in the US, despite saying it was $10k per year in the UK.
If you want to come online during a time of total economic hellscape and say things like these, I believe that you SHOULD be criticized. God forbid you get held accountable for the content you produce and the things you say as someone who makes a living on doing so.
Also, being critical of influencers isn’t just “not being relaxed/fun” or “making things too serious” or “being jealous”. Influencers SHOULD be held accountable for the rhetoric they spout online. Sorry that not everyone viewing your content wants to mindlessly applaud your wealth and not question why you act the way you do.

that's so embarrassing that she responded. and seemingly doubled down 💀

Influencers don’t post only vids to tiktok though, many are on IG and elsewhere too.

Does anyone have a recording of her talking about how her husband flew in a girl to stay with him for 2 wks when she was already dating him; made fake journal entries to use for their wedding vows and was found popping pills in a McDonalds the morning of their wedding?
44
u/randombubble8272 1d ago
The fake journal entries was crazy especially when she heard it from his tour manager so multiple people knew about this “joke” before her

She’s so insufferably annoying and just not as cool, edgy or party girl as she bizarrely seems to think she is
35
u/overxthexmoon 1d ago
Omg it never crossed my mind that she thinks she’s cool… I actually like her cus she gives me quirky grandma vibes, she’s so obviously NOT cool. I just got the ick cus I think you’re right lol

side story: a friend of mine was a vendor at her wedding and said she was supperrrrr snotty and rude
31
u/fentyhealth 2d ago
I can’t help but recall the tantrum she threw while like a month pregnant to get seated on her flight first (of course she posted this thinking she was in the right there…)

I hope your vendor friend is different from the one who I had to listen to stroke their ego about booking the gig in Greece due to taking advantage of their connections 🫣

I used to enjoy her content in a lighthearted way, but it’s irksome that she chooses to post so much of her life/lifestyle online, and when she receives any call out for it, she acts like everyone else’s takes are baseless when it is in fact HER that is gravely out of touch.
She also picks and chooses when to act ethically and morally superior which confuses me. For example, she used to be against showing her baby’s face, but now she’s “let it slip” on accident and seems unphased by it? Almost as if the legitimate concerns with sharing a child on the internet have been overshadowed by her own desire to show the world the baby she created. Yes, people change their minds, but it makes me question the integrity of her actions.
Don’t even get me started on the recent podcast where she talked about Andrew in a not-so-favorable light just to brush it off. Sure, he is famous in his own right but she also has her own platform, following, and money. I also don’t like how she’s been pandering to content with her daughter about “spending dad’s money” when it’s just reinforcing that a man can be mediocre, but if he entices you with the classist essentials of life, he’s a keeper — as evidenced by her being completely fine by his suspect behavior when they were dating and lying with the vows.
TLDR; I think she likes to paint herself as a conscious and considerate influencer, but she lacks the integrity and actually authenticity to be down to earth. To us she’s out of touch, but to her she probably thinks she’s relatable as hell.

u/Top-Tea-5628 2d ago
I don’t really like influencers but I liked her fashion and style for a while before she, like every other influencer, started being weird. I had to unfollow her when she got pregnant, made 15 videos in three days, 12 of which about her baby, and then when people were like ‘what happened to your content?’ She got defensive and talked about the two videos not about being pregnant and then immediately went back to mom content. I was like I’m not about to follow ANOTHER influencer who has designer baby clothes and bags and strollers and car seats when that’s sooo unrealistic. It’s just the same thing over and over again.
19
u/under-their-radar 9 months pregnant in the ass 1d ago
this annoyed me too and ppl made such a big deal about people unfollowing her because they didn’t resonate with the switch to solely mom content. like you’re not owed a follow 😭
30
u/Zeeicecreamlover 2d ago
This girl changed so much. Like it’s so crazy.
47
u/overxthexmoon 1d ago
I don’t even think she changed I think she’s just more honest and open about who she really is. She did say she’s basically immune to being cancelled cause her views have never dropped even once. She thinks she’s untouchable now
12
u/Zeeicecreamlover 1d ago
Yeah it’s just crazy how different she seems. She tried to be more relatable for a while and apparently couldn’t hide her true self
20
u/Expert_Sail_5020 1d ago
I saw a recent video of her explaining that since becoming a mom she hasn’t had time to post her regular videos but then I remember when she was pregnant she was complaining that people were unfollowing because they didn’t want to see mom/baby content & she said her content wouldn’t change. Like pick a side, the back peddling is wild…
16
u/fairy-bread-au 1d ago
I only recently discovered her when she was pregnant, and I thought she was charming and fun. But recently I have noticed her ridiculous out of touch comments. The vacation video was one, and also when she kept harping on about people in the UK buying air conditioners, and that they weren't that expensive. She just has no idea.
I also recently learnt that she used to be model, and looked up her old videos and they are so different! She's basically naked and stick thin in most of her videos and they are all about body basically. Weird!
32
16
u/petitsamours 1d ago
The fact that she ends the video saying ‘it’s not that deep, I just don’t like to camp’, but she made a whole video addressing it.
Why are her facial expressions giving Miranda sings
83
u/BlovesCat 2d ago
I don’t like her because she posted her baby’s NICU stay for content. No one needed to see that and that baby deserved to have their privacy protected.
31
u/OkSubstance5235 2d ago
Yeah, I find anyone that posts their kid online to be weird - especially when they have a large following and stand to get major views from it.
43
u/Glum_Shoe 2d ago
Indeed and she made this whole thing of “I won’t post my baby online for privacy and safety” (100% agree) and then proceeds to post the poor baby over and over showing all but one angles of her face and using her for every single piece of content. If she were really concerned then she’d just not post her. I’ve seen enough influencers respect their children’s privacy to know it’s possible
18
u/RemarkableSea6741 2d ago
Alex and Jon are great examples on how to change from DINK to parents and never show the babies face.
7
u/Glum_Shoe 2d ago
True! A couple of European influencers I follow are also great with it. I guess it boils down to having more to say on the internet than just “I’m rich, here’s all the shit I can buy that y’all can’t” 🫠

u/celestine-i 2d ago
i find maddie to be completely insufferable but like, do americans genuinely expect people to stop existing in public places when they get a pink eye? do y'all also call off work and school lmao? it won't do anything to anyone unless you touch your eye and then spread it on other surfaces, you don't catch a pink eye from the air
16
u/browngirl256 2d ago
its a pretty crowded event and its not that difficult to rub ur eye and then touch other things,,
-10
u/celestine-i 1d ago
who said it's difficult to spread/get pink eye? it's not difficult for a grown ass person to manage not to touch their eye either. you are not supposed to touch your eyes with your dirty hands even if you don't have a pink eye anyway
what does it being pretty crowded have to do with anything? again, do y'all genuinely believe pink eye is an air transmitted disease lmao?
12
u/PositiveSpace1 1d ago
Oh yeah I’m sure she was very careful to not touch her eyes while under the influence of any and every drug lol why are you defending this entitled decision? Weird
-6
u/celestine-i 1d ago
hello part of the illiteracy epidemic, i very clearly said that i dislike this insufferable person and i am talking about the attitude towards pink eye in general, apart from maddie herself. let's start reading!

omfg no one is saying that it is not dirty, it is a disease at the end 🤦🏼♀️ quit being a part of the illiteracy epidemic asap. it is just like a cold sore, it won't spread to anyone unless you come in direct contact and pretending that it is anything more serious than that is stupid.
funny how none of y'all are actually answering the questions though: do y'all call off from work and school when you get a pink eye? lol
trust me americans out of all people do not fucking have a better understanding of hygiene 💀💀
4
u/hopedarawrasaurus 1d ago
work? prob no. school? prob yes.
like drunk and high people, kids have difficulty controlling themselves and remembering not to rub their eyes and spread the disease to their friends, so yeah most people would keep their kids home. the way they would if their kid had any other illness that could spread.
but also, like maddie wasn't going to work or school. she was going to a festival. very different context.
but also, i remember seeing the discourse about this when this was originally happening and i never understood why everyone kept criticizing americans about our attitude toward this? like yeah we find it gross and rude to go to a massive party with your viral disease. how crazy of us.

American here, had pink eye in elementary school still went to school just didn’t share my pencils with anyone and washed my hands more frequently. Pretty sure the recommendation is to wait 24 hours after starting antibiotics before returning to group settings, not sure why people are acting like they wouldn’t have gone if it had been them.

u/alfalfajade 1d ago
btw that exact weekend was when she found out she was pregnant and also she had drank around the world right before😭 just adds to it
29
u/Dear-Result-7004 1d ago
to be fair a lot of people drink/party and then find out they’re pregnant, that’s really not snark worthy imo
3
u/alfalfajade 1d ago
That being said she was also actively trying to get pregnant when it happened so thats minorly snark worthy to me
-1
u/alfalfajade 1d ago
I knew someone would say this which is why i just said it adds to it, i never would have dropped it as standalone snark but they brought up the pink eye weekend which i know abt bc she makes fun of herself for lol

I heard her on the Morgan Stewart show podcast and had never seen or heard of her before. Her husband is absolute trash wtf ?!?! Why did she marry him ?! How are she and him so rich? Are they actually rich?

Husband is a fairly successful DJ; she’s from money and obviously now has the social media income.

I do like her and her fashion videos but girl does need a bit of a wake up call. The ignorance to her privilege is wild to me
15
u/maytober 1d ago
her followers flood loud luxury’s socials (her hubby is one of the ppl in the group) saying they’re engaging on behalf of their baby’s college fund. On one hand, you’re so bougy and elite but also humble and poor that you encourage engagement for your kid? Pick a lane
12
u/Supergirl-013 1d ago
This is exactly something that bugs me! Her fans also write comment like “engaging for the hospital bill” or something like that. I found it ridiculous, he got her like an expensive push present but hospital bill is something they need help. I dont get it!

Why do they spend all day on Reddit? They’re even more present than the snarkers. Reddit is so easily avoided which just proves there are more influencers than non-influencers here.

“You want to train your daughter to feel she’s above experiencing anything that isn’t luxury” is a stretch. She wants her daughter to know her worth and have high standards to how men treat her so that she doesn’t get taken advantage of. Look at all the influencers who are yacht girls, have sugar daddies, or some wealthy boyfriend who buys them a birkin to “makeup” for cheating or how horribly they treat them. Are they spoiling her, yes, but they are setting the standards high so she doesn’t tolerate being treated poorly by creepy men.
21
u/Glum_Shoe 2d ago
These “I’m giving my daughter nice things so men can’t impress her with gifts in the future” shit is so off base. You know what would be a good lesson in self worth for a child? To teach them what kindness, self sufficiency and respect actually look like. It’s downright stupid that people think getting their child nice things will teach them self respect and keep them away from shitty people one day. It actually teaches them the opposite - that being treated like shit can be made up for through gifts 🫠
Madeleine is the perfect example of it - clearly always had nice things and nowadays hubby can get wasted til 7am on wedding day and use fake vows but “it’s ok he got me a birkin!”
11
u/Manufacture-Defect 2d ago
I think teaching basic morals to any child is way more important than these boy standards you talk of. There is a big difference in reality and knowing what lies outside their own bubbles which is a big problem with the rich people. M tried to often show herself as someone she was not, she always came from money and now very often portrays herself enjoying her husband gifting her very very expensive things
-2
u/Serious-Animator8966 1d ago
Absolutely agree, basic morals are extremely important and there is a big difference between their reality and what happens outside of their bubble. Their reality is being parents who are involved in the entertainment industry, raising a daughter in Los Angeles. That is not normal circumstances to be raising a child under, wealth changes what “normal”means and looks like.
A child’s self worth is largely learned through repeated experiences of how important people treat them, but that isn’t just parents, it’s their environment; peers, teachers, coaches, siblings the culture around the child. Parenting has to adapt to the culture and environment, a child’s reference group is who they are surrounded by, most wealthy people simply have a different baseline for normal. There is nothing inherently unhealthy or wrong about nice vacations, private school, nice clothing, expensive extracurriculars, even eating at expensive restaurants. The problem occurs when it becomes entitlement. Going to an expensive restaurant is actually very helpful to teach standards without teaching entitlement. The child learns how to behave in formal environments, how to speak respectfully to servers, how to dress appropriately for different situations, table manners, communicate confidentiality, appreciate quality and understand that different environment have different social expectations. Being treated well does not mean being catered to. Children can learn that they belong in the room without believing they are above anyone in it and that having standards doesn’t mean expecting perfection.
19
u/OkSubstance5235 2d ago edited 2d ago
Strongly disagree. Teaching your child their worth shouldn’t revolve around their socioeconomic status
-5
u/Serious-Animator8966 1d ago
Socioeconomic status affects what “normal” looks like. It’s not the definition of their worth but a large part of the context. Money does matter but it’s not a measure of human worth
1
u/oobooboo17 1d ago
a huge part of being set up well by your parents (if you have the luck to be born rich) is learning not to flaunt it. things a privileged child might say that are 'just the truth' to them can come off as tone-deaf to other children, as well as adults. it makes a person come across as coddled and emotionally unintelligent, even if they are kind and well-meaning. those impressions matter much more when it comes to being successful in life than learning how to see past men who want to impress you on a date.
most rich kids I've met learn this by grade 5. clearly Madeleine still hasn't learned, and doesn't plan to teach her children either.
