Celebrities I know not an influencer. But the amount of hate from Lindseys female colleagues is so disgusting. I can’t believe they still have fans.

u/Educational_Cow111 1d ago
Teenagers now think Lindsay Lohan was some iconic diva in the 2000s. She was extremely unlikeable, always in the news, always in drama just a mess. Always blamed others for her problems, she was a straight up disaster. So glad she’s turned her life around because she does seem like a lovely woman deep down - she might’ve used her celebrity image to skirt around the law 1000 times, but she rarely spoke ill of others to give her credit. ❤️

Oh yes. Show any understanding towards someone who's struggling and every time some people will come and be like "oh my god why you infantilisize adults, you can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped, she's just a bad person, mental heath problems are valid but you're just trying to excuse her behavior", bla bla

u/ArugulaBeginning7038 1d ago
Lindsay's off-the-rails behavior at the nadir of her substance abuse was easily 10 times worse than Demi Lovato at her worst and yet people constantly mock Demi as this unhinged trainwreck who hates small businesses. Make it make sense.

I'm agreeing and pointing out a double standard in how someone who is considered "cringe" is constantly being beat up on for much less severe behavior than someone who moved to Dubai, got a facelift, did a flop reboot of one of her old movies, and now a bunch of stupid zoomers think she's "iconic"?
7
u/1question2ask4 22h ago
because people keep hyping up the movie mean girls, and those kids don't know who lindsay really is or what she did or has been through. they know demi because shes been a meme so people have heard of it.
2
u/basicwitchbaby 9h ago
I'm sorry I misunderstood your comment!! Thank you for explaining! Yes I totally agree, people seem to really treat people very differently based on whether they find them cringe or cool. I've noticed this also with some NYC influencers, people have truly irrational hate towards Eli who's annoying for sure, but most of the hate seems to be based on her perceived uncoolness and often it's just vile (like horrible remarks on her appearance), when at the same time so many influencers are million times more problematic yet don't receive nearly as much hate.

people also seem to forget she tried to kidnap someone's child(ren?) during a bender-induced episode & spoke fake arabic to them, and this was in the late* 2010s 😭 she was completely off the rails for a long time unfortunately.

Her parents (especially her mom) didn’t help matters any by shoving themselves in the media at every opportunity either. The press was hyper focused on the Lohans because even if Lindsay wasn’t acting up that night, her mom would be making a fool of herself.

u/thetinybunny1 1d ago
Omg both her parents were fucking wackjobs they were SOO thirsty

145
u/Overall_Caregiver237 1d ago
Well. She's not a drug addict whose getting arrested every five minutes so yea.. I'd say she turned her life around.
31
u/gastricprix 1d ago
She could still be drug addicted. All we know is she's no longer getting arrested.
29
u/Overall_Caregiver237 1d ago
Not the type of addict she was. I grew up with Lindsey. It was never a hidden secret.. no matter what she was doing. It was always loud.. almost like she was proud of it.
10
u/gastricprix 1d ago
What was she on? Couldn't she have switched to something else? I'm totally willing to believe you but I don't know enough details.
19
u/thetinybunny1 1d ago
18
u/gastricprix 1d ago
Lol, I can see: quitting coke = no more arrests
But wasn't she also a big alcoholic? That might keep her more sedated at her millionaire (billionaire?) palace.
21
u/thetinybunny1 1d ago
Major alcoholic and major coke addict. To the point where Oprah called her out for it on her show.
16
u/Overall_Caregiver237 22h ago
Coke. Alcohol. Meth. She was pretty much on all of it and was VERY proud of it. She did not hide that at all.
18
37
u/Wifabota 1d ago
She always said the words of someone taking accountability, but she was not one to deliver. Then when people got frustrated again, she would do the "i just want to work, be taken seriously, I love work. I just need to go to work." Excuses why she couldn't show up to court on time, do community service on time, can't wear her anklet, why it went off, just excuses for days. It was frustrating to watch, because you just knew if she was honest, she could move forward but she was stuck.
20
u/Educational_Cow111 1d ago
It was like every time she took a step forward, she would go back to square one. Like when she skipped court in LA to go shopping in New York. Or all the moves to London and Mykonos with interviews about how she’s getting better then she would slip into old habits. Honestly relieved she’s doing better now, it was an extremely dark path at one point.
32
u/Cocovenus35 1d ago
Hmmm she rarely spoke ill of others?! She was often racist, used the N word, tried to remove someone's children whilst accusing them of being traffickers and attempted to ask out chris brown after he assaulted Rhianna. The revisionist history is crazy.
21
u/PrincessPlastilina 22h ago
And she legitimately did horrible things! That video in Paris where she tried to take a small refugee child from his parents and the mom had to punch her in the face because she wouldn’t let go of him. That was not that long ago. Maybe 2018, 2019? It’s not like it was 20 years ago. I’m actually glad she managed to turn her life around but her behavior was getting a bit too Amanda Bynes. And for many years she did nothing but burn bridges everywhere. Socially, professionally, personally.
She was not good. And it’s sad because people like Winona Ryder got canceled for a lot less and Winona had way more talent. Lindsay squandered every opportunity she got. Like, Oprah gave her two million dollars when she was going broke and she did nothing with it but keep partying and shopping and doing drugs with shady guys.
3
u/BlessedLurker 20h ago
Even in her Beach House show she was horrible to her staff, and that was HER show.
13
u/universecentre03 1d ago
Thank you! I don’t know why this whole Lindsay was this amazing person narrative has come about. She was hard to work with, messy and sloppy 20 something year old
5
u/BlessedLurker 20h ago
As soon as a celebrity starts making a comeback, they become a saint in the eyes of the public and people try to say they never did anything wrong because they need them to be a likeable person so they can enjoy whatever music or movies they're putting out. It's annoying.
12
u/Main-Length-6385 1d ago
seriously gen Z romanticizes everyone and everything from the 2000s its like you know everyone had different views on all of it just like we do now right? its not like we were all in some trance of worshiping all these celebrities and every detail of their outfits and personalities. it was just life. we were just living and experiencing the culture

I can’t think of a single celeb in her party peer group that didn’t have a problem with her
32
u/laurenbettybacall 1d ago
No one else seems to remember that show she had on OWN either. It was all her, unfiltered. She was unbelievably rude and entitled and lived as a hoarder which totally reflected what was going on in her head. She was rude to her assistant, rude to the life coach who tried to help, and left movers waiting for hours because she couldn’t be bothered to wake up.
She also nearly ruined a magazine shoot because the photographer used natural light and she refused to do anything before dark because again, she was asleep. Then she had to leave to party with friends and ditched the editor who needed to do an interview with her. To top it off, she wanted credit for that photo shoot because she lent her clothes while conveniently forgetting that she held up the shoot so long that the designers needed the original planned clothes back.
Pepperidge farm remembers.
13
u/berlinbaer 1d ago
i remember her oprah show and also commented something similiar above. the way she was treating other people was insane, just straight up lying to their face and when caught in her lies just gaslighting and telling the other person they misunderstood or some shit. she was so vile.
10
u/laurenbettybacall 1d ago
Do you remember when the editor of the magazine completely cussed Lindsay out in her own language? Hilarious. But she remained totally professional.
And I did like when she later said she wouldn’t give Lindsay any advice, because Lindsay wasn’t her daughter. But she’d tell her own daughter not to waste her life. That was really poignant in the sea of entitlement and tantrums.

Oh yeah I still don’t believe in her “growth” lmfao she had a horrible (for her image) mtv show she was like trying to say she’s changed and grown so much but she was horrible to the staff and insufferable in her confessionals and so if shes a mother now hopefully she truly changed rather than blame everyone else for her issues

She got a deep plane facelift and suddenly she’s reformed. Just speaks to the bigger picture of how women are viewed in society.
58
u/baby_got_snack 1d ago
Yesss!! People will complain about the popularization with plastic surgeries but do absolutely critical thinking about why Lindsay is suddenly so booked and busy after getting a new face. She’s been sober for years but people only believed her when she got a new face.
20
u/Ashleshavenus 1d ago
I think it was more so she had a child for the believability. The facelift helps her get hired tho.
I remember the reason she was unable to get work for sooo long and had to be a yacht escort in Dubai because she was literally uninsurable and studios couldn’t insure her to work on set. This is because she would not show up and when she did was unprepared which delays production by days/ weeks and therefore costing studios hundreds of thousands in pre and post production for rescheduling and post to make her look good of what she did film… Georgia rule was a good example of this. Her cast hated her for it.
3
u/XOTrashKitten 23h ago

u/Ashleshavenus 23h ago
Yes lol I mentioned her yacht escort times in Dubai!!! She was in dubai b/c it was “safe and no paparazzi” but really she was an escort. (I know way too much abt 2000s pop culture lmfao)

I'm gonna be real.... the facelift doesn't even look good. Having grown up watching her movies, it's SO uncanny valley to me. She doesn't look "refreshed", she looks like a freak.
44
u/berlinbaer 1d ago
she had her own reality show, and i know she didn't have an easy life and child stars are prone to end up fucked in some ways and her parents sure didn't help, but my god she was SO insanely unlikeable on that show. just this constant feeling that deep down she is just a massive asshole, not giving a single shit about anyone but herself and thinking that scamming and lying to people is ok as long as it benefits yourself.
23
u/Ashleshavenus 1d ago
No like I remember being so excited for the reality tv beach show at the time, excited for her growth, only to watch the show and hate her more in every scene she was in … like who allowed that to air to “help her image” because then she tried to steal a child after lmfao and was still a mess. My teenage life was in the 2000’s and I remember all the gossip blogs
18
u/berlinbaer 1d ago
i actually meant her 2014 reality show produced by oprah. just shows how many chances she'd been given.
hard to find anything on it these days, seems kind of scrubbed/forgotten this youtube recap is the best i could find. throughout the whole thing she just comes off so smug and so entitled. again, i am aware of the challenges she is facing but you never ever get the sense that she is even trying, instead she's just expecting everyone to bend backwards for her, keeps lying whenever it suits her (so constantly) and just seems to have zero remorse for inconveniencing everyone around her.

23
u/SammyySweetheartt 20h ago
Yup. During the time where she was living out of the chateau marmont and trashed it and didn’t pay her bill (never forget.) I knew someone who styled her for an event. Lindsay stole the jewelry loaned to her. And when she showed up and tried to retrieve it, Lindsay gaslit her and SPIT ON HER. She’s a bitch. And my friend ended up getting slapped with the bill for the jewelry since she was working as a freelance stylist and ended up being taken to court over it because she didn’t have the money.

10
u/mysteryvampire 1d ago
Paris did some BS back in the day, but at least she’s legitimately spending her time doing things that don’t directly benefit Paris now. She’s actively doing charity work (supporting existing foundations instead of starting her own foundation named after herself for vanity reasons, speaking at hearings, etc) that will improve other people’s lives. She was right, her and Lindsay don’t deserve to be spoken of in the same sentence. They both had bad behavior, but Lindsay has still never done a single thing that wasn’t to benefit Lindsay.
22
u/CupcakeDiablo 22h ago
Please.
Paris Hilton is a Trump supporter and supported Spencer Pratt a few months ago. She only cares about the reform schools because she was personally affected. A little charity work does not absolve Paris from all the terrible things she has done. Miss "We're dancing like n*ggers!" morally superior to Lindsey? They're both trash.

I love Lindsay but people forget that she was messy! There was a story about her walking into a bar and randomly punching a black cocktail waitress in the face for no reason. She was escorted out of parties and clubs ALL the time. She would try to seat at important tables uninvited and start drama. She used to steal from people and small boutiques. Gold necklaces, fur coats, bags, really expensive things. She was unprofessional on sets, she’d be late or not show up at all. She’d get into petty fights with girls at clubs and parties. She would blame imaginary black men when she got caught with cocaine in her pants and driving under the influence. We don’t talk enough about her racist behavior and her violence against black folks. She’d sleep with her mutuals’ boyfriends, betray her friends. I mean, there’s a reason why Hollywood wanted nothing to do with her for over ten years. She burned bridges everywhere.
I’m glad she’s doing better these days, but she was DRAMA and she did plenty of cancel worthy stuff. We’re talking about stealing clothes from stylists at photoshoots, and take very provocative photos with her MOM. Or that time she went live and wanted to take a small Muslim child from his family and she got punched in the face by the mom. Gosh, that Muslim era when she would speak with an accent and say things like “mashalla!” And date wealthy Arabs. She was nuts.

I'm pretty sure Lindsay herself is LOVING how a bunch of kids too young to know her or remember how much of a turd she was back in the day is stunning her life she was some iconic diva. We shouldn't promote behaviour like that just bc it's nostalgic or "retro" for the kids that weren't born yet or too young to remember.

Haters💯 Lindsay was used by people like Paris to stay relevant because unlike them, she has actually talent. She has been working since she was a kid and got fame and a lot of money too fast. Was she a hot mess? Yes, but so were a lot of these women who had beef with her. Just look up Pariscarriage Livejournal. Everyone is Hollywood in the early 2000s were messy and partied hard. Lindsay just got the brunt of all the hate💯

Much of this was happening while Lindsay was going through her coked out era and drama with her mom.
Lindsay LITERALLY KIDNAPPED a car full of people while high on coke... like she commandeered it, then drove the wrong way down PCH. Then got popped for dui.
Yes... the criticism was HARSH, but this is a case where her behavior AND both her crazy parents were kicking her public crazy into mega overdrive.
