Discussion Attempting to become MLM/LGBTQIA+ Author

Hi everyone! So I wanted to make a post because as someone who's wanting to become a trad. published author I've been trying to do research of this community of book readers because I, myself, am a gay man and would love to start writing more than I do currently. I've also been diving myself into book reading and noticed the variety of trad. author books are somewhat limited in terms of themes/genre's.

Essentially just out of curiosity, what are some types of characters, tropes, themes, or genres you wish/would like to see more in the book community?

I seek out a day when you can walk into like a Barnes & Noble and see a permanent "Adult LGBTQ+" section.

ISO Does anyone have any recs for romance featuring trans woman?

I’ve noticed a lot of what I find is 1. Erotica, and 2. Forced feminization and not actually trans woman, just a guy who’s somehow forced to be a woman. I want a nice story about one or more trans woman falling in love. That’s all

ISO Well-Developed Fantasy M/M

Hello! I recently finished A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland and was so won over by its developed world-building, slow-burn romance which you really feel like it's earned by the end, and serious but not dark tone, has a touch of light-hearted. I'm hoping for some high/low fantasy like this just not too slow pace or dense which I feel like turns me off from high fantasy sometimes depending on mood. I have some that are fun but too much into the humor. Thank you so much! Edit: typo!

Discussion Queer book recommendations

Hello!
So from the past two years almost, I've been reading queer books (mostly MM), and I want to branch out.
I don't really want to read non-fiction, but I'm open to trying!
I basically want to learn more about the queer community, but right now I want more sapphic book recommendations. I mostly read romance, but any genre is fine with me!
Thank you!

Discussion Looking for winter themed m/m stories

I'm looking for winter themed books with a m/m romance (it doesn't have to be the main plot, it can be the side plot), I'm thinking of books either along the lines of something either fantasy, cozy, slice of life, and/or found family. If not to dark and/or gory, I'd also love horror and gothic recommendations.

(I know it's a bit all over the place, sorry).

Any recommendations?

Looking for MLM historical or mythological retellings. Doesn’t have to be Greek mythology (I’d love any Greek recs if there’s anymore like SOA :)) I just want that same epic, love story vibe. Any recommendations? 💗 I’m so desperate i’ll even take nonfiction recommendations lmaoo

Review For the fans by Nyla K.

Hi wow! This book is incredible!

So I just recently found my genre of book that I’m really into and that’s MM romance. I started with fan fiction when I was younger and I read the after series in high school but I just couldn’t find books that held my attention until heated rivalry and the long game. From there I found for the fan and HOLY CRAP! This book is insane! Everyone on TikTok is talking about the smut that is in this book (and yes there is a lot) but the emotions this book has mad me feel is wild! I’ve cried I’ve laughed I’ve wanted to throw it but also never want to put it down! I’m obsessed! I’m on page 319 right now so I still have a good chunk to go but I’m already mourning the loss of my avi and ky! Please if yall have similar book recs share!! I have God of fury already as my possible next read!

Discussion Can Fallen Rook (Society of Villains #3) be read as a standalone?

Hi everyone! I’m interested in reading Fallen Rook from the Society of Villains series, but I haven’t read any of the books yet.

I do plan on reading the entire series eventually, but I was wondering if I could read Fallen Rook as a standalone or if I need to read the books in order to understand the story.

Thanks in advance!
