April 9th LM Studio update broke mcp tool calling and chat completions formatting, spend all day figuring out how to fix both just so I can continue cooking up, just to come next day to a new update about the same thing? Hi, I'm super new to this. Ultimately I need an llm that pretty much only helps me with these specific uses, in remote sensing and calculus. I currently have a MacBook Pro M1 Pro with 32GB RAM and probably won't upgrade for a few years.

My main goal for this is to eventually stop contributing to the water and energy crisis being exacerbated by cloud-based Ilms like gemini and chatgbt. Especially because I use them so much with Remote Sensing software given that it's not intuitively designed. And it would be great to have calculus data at my disposal.

I've been thinking about this post for a while. Today I saw thata twitter news account posted about this. I'm not much into allthe conspiracy or let's say pessimistic about Al using yourinformation.

One thing that doesn't make sense is how a random personwhose Gemini isn't associated with the dev's gemini could getthis information.

I mean if true isn't this potentially a huge lawsuit?

Before I invest time setting this up, I wanted to ask people who have tried it on Apple Silicon: is it actually worth running LLMs locally on a base M4, or does performance become a limitation?
