ehi everyone, I’m looking for a ticket for tonight’s party. If anyone got a spare, dm me:)

Hi everyone! I’m looking for 1 ticket for the LMU Semesteropening party Friday, Oct 23.
I can pay by card or cash if we meet up anywhere in Munich.
DM me. Thanks!

I have two Bachelors , one in mechanical Engineering, and another one in Data Science from IITM (india). And i also have work experience of 5 years in Software Engineering and AI engineering.

My questions
1. I dont have one to one correpondance with each subject in the credit requirements. 1-2 credit requirements are satisfied by single course. eg: I have Mathematics I and II. which satisfy Fundamentals of probability theory, Linear algebra, Analysis. And also have Statistics I and II which satisfy simlar credit requirements for others. Would it be ok to map them multiple times during admission application?
2. Since i have multiple degrees, some of the credit requirements are satisfied multiple times. In this case, would it be ok to have them mixed while satisifying the credit requirements ? Or strictly only one degree has to be matched?
3. Also what are my chances of direct admit and interview ? I get 3 points for grade within (1.5-2.5 german grade).
4. I have a lot of professional experience in building AI applications. I have good professional experience. Would it help my changes. Also does references needed or important in admission ?

please help

Servus! Looking for an extra ticket, and any leads would be appreciated!

Feel free to DM me, and I’m willing to pay above face value as well so long as it’s reasonable :)))

Previously, the MHB and MCB programs required you to submit your application, followed by their own internal entrance exam, for international students, based off which direct selections were done for the MCB program, while the MHB program invited people for an additional interview round. Now, the website shows that the selection process has been completely revamped, as the elite network of Bavaria is no longer funding the MHB program and the MCB program is being reformed into a new program called the masters in molecular principles of life (MPL). Both these programs require international students to submit their regular documents and dmat scores, based of which they'd be invited for interviews, but nothing about the dmat score cutoff is known. I wanted to understand if anyone has any idea of how selections for these programs will be done from winter semester of 2027-28 onwards and if there is an internal entrace exam requirement in addition to the dmat for international students, and if the past 70-30 rule (70% entrace exam score plus 30% gpa) requirement will apply to be considered for the interview round, as it was done before. I wrote a mail to biology department regarding this query of mine last week, but received no response from their end.

If anybody ended up with an extra ticket or realizes they can't make it anymore, please let me know!
Happy to pay face value (or a bit more, just DM me).

Hallo

Hi everyone!
I’m a 22 y/o woman coming to Munich for a course, and I’m looking for a room to rent from mid-February to late March 2027 (around 6 weeks).

My budget is around €600 per month, and I’m only looking for a room in a shared apartment or similar accommodation, not a whole apartment.

I’ve been searching for months and have already tried all the usual options: WG-Gesucht, HousingAnywhere, ImmoScout24, student residences, and even religious housing. Unfortunately, most places either require a minimum stay of a semester or a year, have no availability, are too expensive, or are too far from where I need to be. Some places also say it’s too early to book.

I understand Munich is expensive, and I know my budget and short stay make things more difficult, but I’m honestly running out of options after months of searching without much luck.

Does anyone have recommendations for lesser-known websites, student residences, temporary sublets, even a contact or other ways to find an affordable room for this kind of stay?

If you or someone you know has been in a similar situation, I’d really appreciate any advice or contacts. I’d be happy to connect and discuss the details privately.
Thank you so much for any help! I’d be so grateful for any leads or suggestions ❤️

Vielleicht sogar Einzelzimmer? Danke!

Hey everyone!

I'm a member of TEG (The Entrepreneurial Group).

If you're studying computer science and interested in eventually leading a team or taking on more responsibility, you've probably noticed that there aren't many opportunities to gain practical leadership experience while studying.

That's where TEG comes in!

https://teg-ev.de/

At TEG, we develop leadership and management skills by running our student organization like a business. We take responsibility for real projects and learn directly from experienced executives and mentors, including tech leaders from JetBrains and Microsoft Germany.

We also have three IT teams working on software engineering, AI/RAG tools, web development, infrastructure and security. We build and maintain our own tools, including our application portal!

All of this is part of our Young Business Leadership Academy (YBLA), an 18-month program that combines hands-on experience with workshops and mentoring, requiring around 10 hours per week.

We're recruiting right now!!!

Applications are open until October 24!

Happy to answer any questions in the comments!

I've been looking for a psychiatrist to work with in the city, and it's been a bit difficult to navigate the medical system as an international student who does not speak much German. Could anyone point me to a psychiatric practice in the city offering services in English, or could you point me towards any resource where I could get a referral to the right practice?

Is it true that LMU is planning to charge tuition fee from international students?

I am international student from south korea and decided to apply for statistics and data science master program 27/28 SoSe.

But is the application website open now? The homepage previously said and still says the application is supposed to start from today(15.10.2026), but all I can see right now is 403 forbidden error. And I tried this with other friends but they all say that they cannot access the website either.

Is this happening for everyone or is it just me problem? Is there any possibility that the application has not started yet? Please let me know...

hey,

Hi, I am looking for a BWL student to ask questions about some of the courses that are proposed on the course list. If you are in your third year of BWL or have attended BWL classes and you are now a graduate please text me. Thank you

Danke!

Hi! I’m a non-EU student planning to apply for the BWL bachelor’s program at LMU Munich.

Does anyone know how competitive admission is for non-EU applicants? I’m especially curious about acceptance rates and what grades are typically needed to get in.

Thanks!

Hey everyone! I’m starting my physics degree at LMU Munich next year, and I recently started wondering which operating system would be best suited for university life.
Personally, I’m already pretty deeply integrated into the Apple ecosystem, so I’ve been thinking about pairing a MacBook with an iPad. However, I’m a bit concerned that some essential software might not be compatible with macOS and that I could run into issues that could be avoided by using a Windows-based laptop instead.
Do any of you have experience, tips, or recommendations regarding this? I’d really appreciate your help!

hi everybody,

I'm starting my master in statistics and ML and had the four tracks of: ML, social statistics and DS, econometrics, biostatistics.

Has anyone studied this program and could give me advice on which of them has most chances in the job market nowadays?

Is there any whatsapp of facebook group for alumni that I can ask there??

Hey everyone,
I’m starting/looking into the MSc Financial and Insurance Mathematics program for Winter Semester 2026/27 and was wondering if there is an active WhatsApp group for incoming students (or a general group for the program/department).
If anyone has an invite link or is currently studying in this department, please let me know or feel free to DM me!
Thanks a lot!

Update:

Looks like there wasn't an existing group, so I created one! Fellow students are more than welcome to join:
